Can you choose "former citizenship" on your naturalization certificate?

As I am preparing to become a US citizen, one thing has been bothering me which is the "former citizen of" on naturalization certificate

I came to the US on a UK passport (British national overseas status which was granted to Hong Kongers after the handover)

At my permanent residency interview, the officer crossed "Hong Kong SAR " on my form and put United Kingdom of  which I am not a full citizen but only a National and have no settled status . I raised my objection but the officer said he could only accept HK SAR as my nationality if I presented a Hong Kong SAR passport. (Which I also have but didn't bring to the interview) I didn't want to delay the process and just went with it

On my permanent residency card, my place of birth is recorded correctly as Hong Kong. And when I filled my N400, I also claimed that I am a citizen of Hong Kong SAR.

My concern is that when I receive my naturalization certificate, is it going to record my former nationality as Hong Kong SAR or United Kingdom? I certainly wish to have Hong Kong SAR as my former nationality.

Anybody has any insight? I would especially welcome comments from Hong Kongers who have went through the process

I think they'll use the country that issued the passport you used to enter the US. I could be wrong so don't quote me.
