A state official says police have found the driver they believe caused a car accident that left Gov. Jon S. Corzine critically injured, and would not be charging the man.

An official with knowledge of the investigation said the driver, a man who worked at a casino in Atlantic City, didn't realize he had caused the accident and thought he actually avoided an accident. The official described the man as a ""special needs driver.''

I hate the way our emotions are held hostage by one mass spectacle after another.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Maybe a DRIVER who NEEDS a SPECIAL lawyer?

Nope. NJ State Police will not be pressing charges against him due to his "special needs" condition.

If he's too special to be prosecuted for what he did while driving, maybe he's too special to have a license.

Sorry, I don't think that's funny.

Who said anything about it being funny? ;)

People...and not just people here, but New Jerseyites all over the 'net...seem very pleased by the fact that their governor was critically injured in a car accident. I find that a bit disturbing.

Corzine is extremely unpopular. For good reason.

Are you suggesting that he was given a license even though he has no business being behind the wheel? I'd say that applies to a very high percentage of licensed drivers.

Special needs licence I presume could be anyone who is termed physically disabled. I am not sure that that makes the person automatically a bad driver or that this was the reason no charges were filed. By all acounts part of the reason why Corzine was so badly injured was becuase he wasn't wearing a seat belt while travelling in the front seat of the vehicle (I was under the impression he wasn't driving though?)

Anyway, think what you like about the guy, no one 'deserves' to be in a life threatening car crash just because they are ####### politicians.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .
