Is a mixture of N/A and blank on I-129f okay?

I had written N/A on questions that aren't applicable to us, for example, beneficiary's parent number two, there isn't one, so we wrote N/A.

Petitioner's employment number 2, he has been employed with the same people for over 5 years, so wrote N/A.

But I noticed certain areas on the I-129f made it sound like they only wanted an answer IF you had an answer, say for example page 3, 37. Have you ever been married? Checked no. Now it asks IF you answer yes to question 37, provide the names.

That makes me feel like instead of writing it NA like the other non applicable questions, I should instead just leave all the ones that specifically say to answer IF, blank instead of writing N/A.

Does this all sound correct to you? Or is it a problem that I've got a mixture of both N/A's and blanks as I've described?

I've done something similar. If you fill out the I-129F on a computer in Acrobat, it actually dictates what you can fill in depending on your answers. I entered "N/A" where I could on the computer and the places where I felt it was needed by hand (i.e. my fiance does not have a middle name but the form would not let me enter special characters in many of the spaces). I left any "IF" questions that did not apply blank.

Interesting! Well hopefully all goes well! I'm just going to send it off and hope for the best! :)

We're doing a mix just because of that reason. *fingers crossed*

Ugh, I'm really conflicted about this as well. I even called the 1-800 customer service number to ask whether they really really want us to fill in every blank field with "N/A," "None," or "0" even though the PDF itself often doesn't allow for those inputs electronically, and the guy said "well if that's what the instructions say...." which doesn't inspire too much confidence, but.

Has anyone's application been rejected on this basis yet?

I just put "N/A" for everything that didn't apply to me or my fiancé, even if they were questions like, "if you answered 'yes' on 6..." etc.

This is exactly what my fiancé and I are wondering about. Our reasoning is the same as yours. Did it turn out ok to leave the "IF" ones blank? Thanks!

I went in with Adobe Pro and made every field modifiable and then went back and reviewed the document.  There are simply too many fields to fill in with N/A such as "Apartment" or for persons who may be filling out the form on your behalf - when you're self filing.

The ability to fill in a field shouldn't have anything to do with whether to fill in a field.  You're going to have to read the form and for some areas which there may be more confusion if you leave it blank - put in an N/A

But by no means would each and every blank field need an N/A or None :)

Hey everyone, I just wanted everyone who was wondering the same thing I had asked to know that we got approved last week, and we had never received any RFE's. So apparently the way I filled it out was good. :) Good luck to everyone else!
