WIFE SEEMS NOT COMING TO THE INTERVIEW!

So we're expecting our interview in August, my wife works at a hospital and if she wants to take days off she has to ask for that like a month earlier, we aren't sure when our interview will be but we're expecting it in August, and if it was in August and we didn't know before July 7th she won't be able to attend.

So my question is, Is it gonna be a problem? would it affect my change of getting my visa or approved?

P.S. My Embassy is The U.S embassy in Amman, Jordan.

if i understand correctly, you are the beneficiary and your wife is the USC petitioner. from what i read here on VJ, the petitioner (your wife) does not really HAVE to attend your interview. it would be great, but it is not compulsory. just make sure you are well prepared and you should be ok even without your wife present.

Your wife doesn't have to be present at the interview, it just can look better in high fraud countries especially if evidence is on the thin side. It'll be what it is when it comes to the interview date, so don't stress over it.

First, Yes I'm the beneficiary. I can print out her schedule to show it to the embassy and i can print out our conversations we talk everyday and we video chat almost everyday and i can print what she said that she really wants and hopes to attend the interview but she can't because of work. Do you think this is a good thing to do?

that i cannot say for sure! but it can't hurt to be prepared and to bring everything you can bring to support your case.

probably, that would help if they ask about it. But for me, I went alone by myself and they didn't ask why my husband wasn't with me. They asked a lot of things about information that you already know. Just be confident and relax.

 She can not answer questions for you or help you during the interview.  The chat logs will help to show evidence of a continuing relationship. They are going to interview YOU, not your spouse.

Thank you, that's what my wife and our lawyer keep telling me to relax.

It is always beneficial when the USC can be on the premises during the interview even though many aren't allowed inside.
For those having to wait outside, the beneficiary can take the USC's passport to show to the CO and say 'my wife is waiting outside
and she would be happy to attend if allowed.'
Then the CO will get the impression that the USC cared enough to be there in support for the spouse, even if he declines to allow
her in.
Having said that, if she can't get off then she can't get off and that is that.
The CO will not care why she can't make it or what her schedule is at all but if it makes you feel better you can bring it along.
Hopefully she has visited several times in the past and not just once. They like to see real visits and the evidence of that
such as boarding passes, receipts, photos etc.

Did I read it correctly -- your CR1 took over 670 days from

NO1?? 

 

If I were in your shoes, I'd be calling NVC daily to see if an interview date has been assigned to your case! If you can get a verbal, it can save you 5-8 days (while the official mail/email confirmation reaches you). 

 

Case in point, we got our CC 2 days ago and yesterday (the next day after our CC) I called and lucky us, we had an interview date scheduled already! 

 

it cannot hurt to call!! If I were you, I would want my spouse to show up, after 670 days....I would be anxious/nervous like you! 

 

Bottom line, try getting a verbal date (if they have it scheduled already), if not - call the next day...and the day after! 

 

Try your best and if it doesn't work and she cannot make it, at least you know you have tried.

Thank you, we were delayed because of the background (Security) checks, it took them a year to finish it up.
