My husband and I filed his first non immigrant visa in October 2013, K1 in June 2014, CR-1 in May 2016. He finally completed his interview in June 2017 which resulted in Administrative Processing which according to the consular officer was needed to remove his previous K1 file from the system. He was not issued a 221G and his passport was kept by the embassy. We are nearly 4 weeks into what we believe may be a 5 month minimum wait for his petition to be processed. 

 

I'd like to keep track of the experience of primarily of other couples from Morocco and anyone else with AP and visa issuance not only for myself bu5 future VJers with similar experiences.

I guess I've never heard of a k1 being still in the system? Causing a delay? Was your k1 returned to the US? Did you ever get a hard copy stating it had been closed or anything? I know others who've done K1 to CR1 without a mandatory wait

I haven't heard that either but that's what he said he was told. His case was sent back to the US in March 2016. It seemed very unusual as a reason to withold the visa.
