I-864 - Should I Include Assets

Hello,

 

This is a K1 - AOS

 

I did not make over the 125% poverty line in 2016 since I joined a startup (I made more than 5x in 2015 and 2014)

For 2017, my yearly income would be just over the 125% poverty line.

 

I've heard some that said don't add assets if your current income is enough. Is that true? Or should I be safe and list my assets & evidence?

(My assets alone is enough to sponsor)

If your current income meets the guideline as you say then you don't need to include assets.
Make sure you include all the supporting financial evidence to proof your income, this is where most miss the mark.
If you are self employed then you need to go out of your way to include even more proof.
I also suggest official tax transcripts and not tax return copies.
What are you planning to include ?

I currently have

- Official tax transcripts for 2016, 2015, 2014 (2016 does not meet requirement, 2015 and 2014 does)

- W-2 for 2015 and 2014

- Personal statement to describe the circumstances in 2016 where I started to work for a startup

- Employment verification letter from current employer verifying income meets requirement (> 20300 for me and my wife)

- 5 paystubs from 1/1/2017 - 5/31/2017
