A year ago I emailed the NVC stating that I'd begin the I-601A (Spouse of US Citizen Preference) for my wife, and renewed the contact date for her case at the NVC. Unfortunately, due to monetary reasons, we were unable to proceed with the case with our third party agent. Four weeks ago I resent the exact email from a year ago to the NVC at NVCi601a@state.gov Now, a week ago they sent an email claiming last year was the last day of contact, and that we'd need to repay all the NVC fees (AOS, etc). But none the less they said to mail the letter ASAP even if their records were wrong. Because it was in the junk/spam mail, it remained hidden from me, and I'm so glad I happened to be looking through my email. Our agent said to sign the letters and mail them to: National Visa Center Attn: MFL 31 Rochester Avenue, Suite 200 Portsmouth, NH 03801-2915 Then two weeks later our agent could talk personally to the NVC to prove to them and tell them we actually contacted the NVC. Hopefully the fees do not have to be repaid again since this was their mistake. Has anyone else had similar experiences with the NVC regarding an alleged "expiration"?
