Tax Requirements for Canadian on TN Status

Hi,

I recently received an offer at 82K/year in the state of Georgia, US. I'm getting my TN Status on July 14th 2017 and starting work on July 24th 2017.

I'm currently a Canadian Citizen  (single, no marriage history), do not own a home in Canada and will not be purchasing a home in the US.

My question is how much income taxes I have to pay per year given my current situation. Do I need to file for both US and Canada? I heard there is foreign tax credits, would I be eligible?

What will my take-home net amount be?

The amount of income tax you pay per year is solely dependent on your individual, financial circumstances. It basically will all depend on filing status, income and credits/deductions applicable to you.

 

Your net pay is also dependent on your pre-tax/after-tax deductions and exemptions claimed. Here's a paycheck calculator that would help you out and you can fill-in what's appropriate.
