Met with my attorney today to schedule medical and finger prints and told me that now if you decide to stay in Juarez for your package it will arrive and the ASC. He used my email to register and said that I would get an email when it becomes ready but I hope there is a number to call or something. Let me make clear that if you want to go to another state to wait for it DHL way will continue but not if you want to stay in Juarez. When did this change take effect and anyone else who just went through this new procedure please share.

What is the ASC?

CAS Centro de Atención a Solicitantes (Huellas): Av. Paseo de la Victoria 3640 L-2, Partido Senecú, 32543 Cd Juárez, Chih.

Overview

Most applicants for U.S. visas will be required to have an appointment at an Applicant Service Center (ASC) prior to their appointment at the Consular Section. Biometric information including fingerprints and digital photographs will collected at the Applicant Service Center (ASC). Some applicants may only be required to have an ASC appointment, and will not need to go to the Consular Section.

Applicants who are required to appear in person at the ASC and the Consular Section must schedule the ASC appointment at least one day before the Consular interview. Applicants can schedule both appointments online using this website or through the call center.

What to bring to the ASC appointment?

  • Current Passport valid for travel to the United States. You do not need to submit previous passports. The passport must be valid for at least six months beyond the period of stay in the United States (unless exempt by country-specific agreements.)
  • Your Nonimmigrant Visa Application, Form DS-160 confirmation page, printed on laser printer.
  • Your appointment confirmation and instructions page printed from this website.
  • Previous visa if renewing.
  • Applicants not required to attend the ASC appointment in person must include one 5 x 5 cm (or 2" x 2") color photo taken within the last 6 months. Further details regarding Department of State photo guidelines can be found at: https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/general/photos.html.

As far as I know its the same thing. ASC is in English and CAS is in spanish. Its location for the fingerprints(huellas).

When I looked up DHL in Juarez only location is the CAS. Must be new. My husband just scheduled for end of August.

I just hope it doesn't get packed since is just going to be one location. Are you required to take Mexican police record to your interview ? I overlooked the list of items and now I'm against time. In one place is says only if you have lived a few months after the age of 16, but in the P4 letter it doesn't specify.

Yes my husband needs to take his to the interview. I received an email after CC. Yea I've seen online only if you were over 18yrs and lived for more than 6months in MX. Which doesn't apply to my husband since he has been here since he was 17 and never been back.

I think you have an appt coming up soon. I've read on this fb group you could get it Juarez. Basically if you have no record over there you still just need the Carta de Antecedentes No Penales.  Maybe look into it bc it Mexico requires that letter now.

I think the first place is closest to the consulado maybe like 10min by Taxi. My suegros I think were able to do something for my husband in his hometown but incase it comes back to be not what we need I was going to look into these places in Juarez

What email did u receive when case closed?

I don't have it in hand right now but it was from the NVC. I actually got the email a few days later but called in the 12th day and they confirm it was complete. There is a spread sheet going around where you put ur updates and get to see other people's updates to get idea on times

We received an email from the NVC last Tuesday the 20th..stating that all the necessary documentation was received and that our case was in queue awaiting a date for interview and I also checked the status of my case and it says at NVC so that pretty much means the case was closed right?

Yes your case is complete. So I would say 12-15 days to get your P4 letter( appointment with day and time). But I would call when you get close. Sometimes you get phone confirmation first then letter arrives a few days later.

Are you as nervous as I am for your interview?

YES. But make sure you have everything. If you came here without inspection make sure you have your 601A waiver approved or you will be stuck down there. Did they mention to you about the Mexican Police report ?  I think is only if you have lived more than 6months after your 16th birthday in Mexico but we are trying to get it just in case.
