Received my interview appointment letter, its scheduled for Aug 27, in Montgomery, AL. Finally some progress for us, I hope everyone else still waiting well get theirs soon. If anyone has any advise what to expect at the Montgomery office and what if any additional documents they are requesting at this time besides the documents stated in the original appointment letter. I don't do well with interviews because I am so shy and nervous and afraid I'll forget something. Thanks to everyone in this forum that has posted their information and experiences through out their journey, it has been so helpful to me.

Congrats on the progress of your case. There’s no one-shot method to preparing for the interview since each case is different. Please be confident and strike a lil bit of conversation with the IO if possible (its part of the test). Obviously, you need to study to pass the civics. As for documents, over-documentation is never a disadvantage with USCIS. Aside from the documents stated on your interview notice, you can also take mortgage/lease agreements, receipts for speed tickets (even when less than $500), passport photo, credit card statements/flight tickets if you travelled outside the country frequently, etc. The only document I presented was my green card. Good luck with your interview!

I' had my interview today at 8am, and I've got "Your application is recommended for approval"

How long have you guys' status changed to "Your application is approval" online ? Immediately or couple days? because mine still "interview is scheduled"

My PD is 6/23/17

Interview Scheduled 8/8/2018

Interview Date 9/11/2018

:My interview went very well. I arrived there around 7:50am, then went to the security check. After that one of the officers took my photo and fingerprint. They won't call your name for taking photo and fingerprint, so you have to walk to the counter window when a person in front of you is done. After 5 minutes waiting, the IO called my name and had a nice chit chat while walking to his office. He told me they had set up a new computer system last week, so he was still figure out how to use it, and I was the first person for him to use the new system. After the chit chat, we did the civil test and english test first. After that, he asked my 2017 tax refund. Then he went some information to make sure everything was correct. He only asked me couple YES/NO questions. When the everything was done, my information would be shown on the tablet, and I had to sign to confirmed it.

The whole interview actually was very fast if not including he tried to figure out how to do the computer system. I will say if counting only the test and questions, it only took 10 minutes.
