Congrats to her. You’re almost done. If my timeline is anything to go about, it took 2 weeks from interview to “in line for oath”, then 3 days to “oath notice mailed”.....but I understand that it also depends on the officer. She may even get the oath sooner.

Received a email on 31st from uscis saying

We are still reviewing your case and there are no updates at this time

Great! Congrats!!!

Mine was sent out July 26 (according to USCIS) and I started getting worried the notice was lost in the mail after 1 week of not receiving it (Montgomery office is about 1 hr from where I live). Yesterday, I made an electronic request for the notice on USCIS website and the auto response said they should respond to me by August 25. I went home 30 mins later only to find the notice in my mailbox. Oath scheduled for August 14!

We attended my wife's naturalization ceremony yesterday in Montgomery, Alabama.  There were about 50 recipients at the ceremony: the Montgomery USCIS office is trying to expedite their process, it was a nice ceremony and standing room only.  Good luck to all who follow!

Hi Jerry,

When you said "standing room", do you mean there were no seats (standing for 1-1.5 hours)? Also, did they allow family members to enter the ceremony room? Thanks

I attended my oath ceremony today. Done with this journey! The ceremony went well and It was a good one. I filled out the oath form in the parking lot of USCIS. After check in, applicants proceeded to the ceremony room while family members/guests sat in the waiting area. The ceremony room has limited space. There wasn't enough seats for all family members but they were allowed to stand. The ceremony was not long so standing wasn't too bad. Besides, you are better off standing if you want to get good pictures/videos of applicants. Instead of a calling out the countries represented, the supervisor had us introduce ourselves one after the other (name and country of origin) - cool.

Goodluck to everyone and thanks for your help!

St.James-One,

This ceremony was comfortable for everyone.  The applicants were seated first.  After that family members entered the room and were either seated or stood around the edge of the room.  The ceremony itself was about 20 minutes, after which there was time for questions and photos.

I would appreciate some help.

I have received my letter for my interview.  I am looking at the list of items to be brought to the interview.  It does not mention tax returns/transcripts.  Are they required even if the letter does not mention them?

I am filing under the 5 year rule.  My US Spouse is deceased.  I submitted a copy of his death certificate when I applied online so I will take that and my marriage certificate plus  the other documents I submitted online when I made my initial application.

Many thanks

Maggie,

The tax returns were not listed as required but my wife brought our latest tax return, which wasn't with our original application, and they took it.  The officer did ask for a house mortgage/title, but as it wasn't listed, he did not require it and she passed the interview without it.

Received my interview appointment letter, its scheduled for Aug 27, in Montgomery, AL. Finally some progress for us, I hope everyone else still waiting well get theirs soon. If anyone has any advise what to expect at the Montgomery office and what if any additional documents they are requesting at this time besides the documents stated in the original appointment letter. I don't do well with interviews because I am so shy and nervous and afraid I'll forget something. Thanks to everyone in this forum that has posted their information and experiences through out their journey, it has been so helpful to me.
