I know you are talking about NSC, but for TSC I called 2 days ago because I hit the end of my 6th month and I was told it's now 9 month for normal processing time

No, the one i gave is for Texas processing times only that i gave you the one for Permanent residents filling for spouse, if you are a USC for spouse, the current processing time is September 2.  So yes, +/- 9 months is how long you'll need to wait to file an inquiry unless the time frame changes when they update them next month. Check USCIS processing times in their website.

Yes, we're already $3000 deep. I'll post here my checklist from NVC

I did a lot of research ahead of time to find the right lawyer and I haven't been disappointed thus far. Fingers crossed for the remainder of the process! You'll have your own cover sheet of course that you'll have to include as the cover page for your documents. It will have your case number and a barcode.

This list has all the things that apply for everything.  Like for example, IRS tax transcripts, then federal income tax return, then evidence of income.  I wish the list showed only the things i should send.  Or here is another one, proof of US status, now as far as i know because i am a US citizen i don't need to send anything.  I really appreciate the list so please don't misunderstand me but i wish the list has only the things someone with my status or in my situation has to send

Technically you do need all those things except the Tax Returns/Transcripts which is one or the other. For evidence of income that's your pay stubs and I sent in a letter from my employer with my hire date and salary. Proof of US status would be your birth certificate and a copy of your passport. You'll still need all of these things unless they don't apply to you like military records or adoption documentation. Anything on this list you need as applicable to you.

I am in the same boat, we submitted our I-130 petition on November 21st, 2016, our NOA1 is dated December 2nd, 2016, we are in Nebraska. We did not receive an RFE or any communication, when we log onto USCIS, it just shows "case was received". We are also patiently waiting, I cannot call USCIS right now because I am currently in Ukraine, visiting my wife but I suspect we would probably get the same answer as the OP.

All we can do is be patient and wait!

Good luck to everyone!

Please have you received an approval? Mine was filed November 18, 2016 for Nebraska and no approval till now.

I hope that is not the reason, because most of us are Muslims on here. 9.5 months is a very long time. Why do they want to interview you? This is crazy too crazy.

My spouse is a Yemeni citizen and my senator's clerk told me 99% of Yemeni citizens will be transferred to the local office for an interview.  They interviews all Yemenies and i believe they call it a Stokes Interview.

Wow, mine was filed on November 18, 2016 but Nebraska. No approval yet. Was yours also filed in Nebraska service center? Kindly shed a light. I can't figure out why ours is being delayed even after they have concluded our date. They have rounded up Nov 1st to 26th 2016 and we haven't gotten our NOA2, do they have to complete the whole November for us to get approval. Please explain

I actually just spoke to them at the USCIS and the rep said that they are working on cases from Dec 9th as of today. So please try calling them to speak to tier 2-3 not the  regular  representative. You were suppose to  receive your approval by now. I am sending you lots of prayers and luck!!!!!

I don't think they are telling you the truth.  They constantly lie or misinform people.  My case was received on December 30 and it was reviewed on April 17 and that's when they sent me the rfe.  On June 1st my rfe response was reviewed and my case was sent to the local uscis office.  So, i don't believe them when they say they are working on cases submitted on December 9th.  They just will tell you anything to give you an execuse.  They told me once 6 months was the normal processing time when i was at around 5 months.  As soon as i hit 6 months and 2 days i called them and they told me the normal processing time is now 9 months.  When i hit 9 months they told me they are working on cases submitted before mine and they are behind.  Maybe they are not lying and they simply don't know.  But how can i call on June 15th and have an uscis agent tell me they are reviewing my rfe response and when i got my senator involved, they sent my senator's office a letter saying my case was transferred to the local uscis office on June 1st.  Why didn't the uscis agent who i done to on June 15 tell me my case was transferred 14 days ago?

I recommend calling and asking to speak to a tier 2 officer (if you haven't already).  The customer service who answer the phone give limited details (basically what you can get off the website) and don't provide much help beyond that.  A tier 2 have always been able to tell me more details about my case and where it was in the process.

Every processing center has different time lines and unfortunately Texas and especially  Nebraska and behind but don't pay much attention to the website dates...they don't update them enough.

Hang in there :)
