I am wondering how long people generally hear back after check is cashed???

usually within a week.  If you sign up for electronic notification, you should hear it the moment they approve your form and get your hard copy of NOA1 roughly about a week later.

Thank you! So many questions on this whole process! This website id very helpful! How do I sign up for electronic notification?

go to https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do and sign up for an account, once done you can change to email and/or text notification but you will need your NOA1 receipt number to be able to set that up.  You still can sign up for an account now tho.
