Hi all, sorry if this sounds a bit thick but has anyone else has problems with typing into the I129f PDF Downloaded from the USCIS website? I can type into most of it but some sections won't highlight? I'm using a Mac with Adobe DC Pro which I've never had a problem with before..? Any advice is appreciated!

The new form blocks out areas you don't need to fill in. if for example you check no on an item and it tells you to skip the next section if you checked no, then it will not allow you to fill the next section in. This did seem a little buggy to me, and I ended up having to fill a couple things in with black ink pen at the end.  For example, on employment history I had to write in "Current" for the end date as the form prevented me from using letters in a date field.  The instructions tell me to write in N/A instead of leaving spaces blank, and then the form prevents you from typing N/A in the cases you mention. Those also got written in pen for me, although I called and the officer I spoke to said it doesn't really matter if you leave them blank.

Yes you can tell they really rushed on getting that new version of the forum out or at least did not think it through.

I did the exact same thing with the employment. It has a start date and End date but no option if you are still employed so I did the same thing to fill that part in as well as a few others after printing it out.

Hm the problem I have is in the address history bit and what's weirder is most of it is allowing me to type but some fields won't. Very odd so I wondered if it's just me and I'm doing something wrong lol

If your mailing address is the same as your current address it will not let you fill in the next blank section of address history. Is that what you are talking about?

Edit: I also noticed for example it won't let you type an apartment number if you haven't already checked the box next to apt. on the form. It could be something small like that.  If you can't figure it out just fill it in with black pen

Yes I figured it was that but it's annoying as I have two addresses to but will work something out! My fiancée mailing address is his current address but if this makes sense he lived at another adddrss before that and then back at his current address so was going to put that in the second box. Basically his current address is his family home, he moved out for some time then back so he's been back there twice in the five year period if that makes sense lol

Hi! Problem with pdf file i129f. Mailing address and physical address  of my fiance are different. So in question 8j "is your current mailing address the same as your physiscal address?" we choose "No". But this form still not allowed to fill out physiscal address 1. We tried to open this pdf file in different programs on different laptops and we tried to download new form from uscis website but STILL NO. Maybe someone had the same problem..

either you can try to open in a PDF editor that allows you to insert text (not automatic but text boxes.I was able to do this on Mac)

or you can just handwrite the parts that couldnt be put on pc.(most people do this, I think)

Yes, we were thinking to handwrite this part, but we are not sure if they allowed it. We will try. Thank you!

They do. Try to write as clearly as possible, and I believe instructions say use black ink.

Good luck :)
