Does anyone know if the form DS-230 part one can be completed and signed ahead of time or will we have to wait for the original to be generated by NVC?

I will be leaving hubby again on Tuesday and we would like to get as much done as possible to save us time.

1/17/07: Filed I130

1/26/07: NOA 1

4/9/07: NOA 2

5/22/07: Received DS3032/AOS bill

5/22/07 Sent choice of agent email

5/23/07: Paid AOS fee

6/7/07: Received IV bill

6/8/07: Paid IV bill

6/10/07: IV bill received by NVC

06/15/07: Sent I-864 Packet to NVC

6/28/07: Mailed DS230

7/16/07: Case complete!

Interview: 9/6/07@8:00 a.m.

9/7/07 Visa in hand!!

11/15/07: Green Card Arrives

Why don't you complete the form and leave it with her and when the packet comes in mail have her copy the contents that you filled out and submit it?

Thanks for your suggestion. We had considered doing that, but it takes around one month to send and receive mail to and from the US. The DHL prices are ridiculously high. Also I can't even guarantee that my husband will receive his copy or not from NVC. The mail service here is not very dependable. I was just wondering if the form sent from NVC will have the generated barcode? Any clue?

Couple of questions..

Who is the petitioner the husband or wife?

When you sent the Choice of Agent, who was assigned as the choice of agent? the petitioner or the beneficiary?

If the choice of agent is the petitioner (the person in the USA) then the beneficary print and sign the DS230 ahead of time and send it back to the petitioner. Then when the offical version comes you can replace it with the one already signed and send it back with the bar code cover sheet.

05/22/07 - Medical Interview Breach Candy Mumbai

05/24/07 - Interview date at Mumbai consulate - APPROVED!

06/02/07 - Mumbai - Paris - Atlanta - Charlotte. Departs June 1st 4.45am EST Arrives June 2nd 4.12pm EST

07/10/07 - Received Conditional Greencard. Still waiting on the SSN

I would fill out everything except leaving the signature and date areas blank. You can sign and date it before you mail it out.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview
