I had to get a No Objection Certificate for me last year. We got it notarized at the New Delhi Embassy last year prior to getting married. I didn't keep a copy of it though. There was so much going on, I totally forgot to.

Yeah it's the same noc i am talking about. It's not required though but i had a copy so thought why not take it as their own issued document for our marriage. 😜Just in case. I am sure it's not mandatory for all states of India.

Yup, the same one! There was so much red tape trying to get married, it was daunting really!

Yup..but we didn't fill and take it with us. We went to the embassy on the appointment date and they gave the forn to fill in front of them. Only document my husband carried was his passport. Didn't take more than 10 minutes. They don't keep any copy and the original is submitted to the SDM office.

Hmmm.... We got the marriage certificate without NOC... May be this is applicable to Delhi only

Yes as I said it's not mandatory in all states.

Yes as far as I know, Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad are a few that require it.

Yes that's also an option. As long as it's signed in the presence of the Embassy official, it can be filled out beforehand as well. That's what we did

Should be allowed. Call the helpline to confirm before you made plans.

I am not too sure if it is going to make much of a difference. I have my interview in Mumbai but got medical done in Chennai & biometrics in Mumbai

3)Does Mumbai consulate return the passport same day?

Tanish's passport was available for pick up Next Day

4)I have seen people mentioning about VFS service,  what is that?

That's about choosing the pick up location of your passport. 

 

5)Do they really ask for whats app chat log?

I am yet to attend the Interview  so I am not sure...

Yes, you can do that. Doesn't make any difference.

If your pick up location is other than Mumbai, you should expect to receive passport within 3-4 business days at max (excluding interview date)

I wasn't asked to present those. I wasn't carrying them anyways. I only had call logs. It's better not to provide too much personal information to them. The more personal info you provide the more chance they have of trapping you. I would suggest you to carry your call logs only and only present them if asked explicitly.

I also needed this.  I went to the embassy.. paid $50( I think..dont remember) and it was,done. 😊 we also married in delhi

Can someone share their experiences on medical/vaccine situation for India? 

 

Hubby has had his vaccines, some when he was a child and some when he was in school, but there are no records of it, being that back then things did not get recorded so well in India.

 

How will this play out for us? Should I ask him to go get his titers and take the records to the medical -or- bite the bullet and have him re-vaccinate himself? I just cannot imagine him being injected *all* the vaccines I saw on the list. 15 or so vaccines in one day....ugh, that will hurt someone badly! 

 

Any folks from India who were/are in the same boat, what did you do? How many vaccines did you need to get?

 

Any help would be much appreciated.

Not counting the ones for children, I counted 15 -- however I read that some people only had to have the TDaP and MMR (and chicken pox incase they did not have it as a child). I will keep you posted when he finds out more.
