@kunzie11 here is the India forum.

Thanks! @JBMG

Anyone have an idea on how soon I can schedule the biometric appointment? All I could find on the site is "AT THE LATEST" it should be 2 days before the final interview. I am trying to find out the earliest we can get the biometrics done. Any idea?

You can get it done the day before the interview. I did the same. Hop on to www.ustraveldocs.com and create an id schedule one.

No it is not an exception. You should follow rules on travel. Gov rather than your relatives. Please apply for a pcc from the passport office and then mail to it nvc. Just get it done quicker to avoid a checklist.

Hello,

I am also trying to get the PCC done from Pune. I have lived more than 6 months in Vellore, Kolhapur and Pune. Does this mean I need to get PCC from all these places ? Confused. Kindly guide me.

Police Report is centralized in India,

You need to get your PCC from Passport Office & they will help you in this regard.

The report generated for you will be centralized, meaning its covering your record on a complete country, India & not for any particular district or state.

However if you have lived in multiple places for six months or more you need to get clearance from both. Though you apply for it at the PSK the police has to gather data from all the locations you have lived at. I am speaking from experience. :D

Hi

Is there any specific document we need to carry to the local PSK to show the PCC is for US immigration?

If I remember it correctly, my husband brought his passport. He did have our case number on hand too. I'll check it with him and get back to you and in the meantime, someone who have actually gone through the process might jump in to help as well.

You'll need your passport, your adhaar card and probably a copy of a letter from NVC or USCIS that confirms that you there is a petitioned filed for you. Taking your marriage certificate wouldn't hurt either.

My hubby said that when he made his appointment online, he was told what to bring. He remembers bringing his passport only and was asked which visa he was applying for.
