My husband has two passports. He had a different one when we filled out the DS-260 and then had to get a new passport with my name on it to get the PCC. So the DS-260 has the old passport information and the profile on the consulates website where I scheduled the interview has the new passport information. Can this possibly be a problem?

Question about medical (records not handed to the applicant) -- has anyone here had an interview scheduled, went there and found out that the medical records were not delivered by the Dr or lost by the Embassy? Or maybe someone with expired medicals can chime in too!

My worry is, we will go to the interview and have this happen to us! What then, will the EMbassy reschedule the interview or will they conduct it and then wait for the medical records to be found etc.?

I cannot stay beyond our interview date as I have to return to the States. Stressing out a bit -- about all this unknown stuff that can creep up on us...

I have read on USCIS website & also the doctor (where I got my medical done) did say that she might either give my report to me or might ship it to the embassy. She mentioned they would do it in special circumstances. She did not mention what circumstances they were. However, I presume you should not fret unless your husband is not sick and is healthy.

Be positive.. :)

My birth certificate is laminated. Though it's in the format NVC/USCIS or Embassy need as the copy of the same was sent with I130 as well as to NVC and accepted.

Now my question is, will the embassy accept the laminated ORIGINAL birth certificate or not? If anyone who has been through this situation can answer please..

I have no personal experience on this issue, but I think you should be fine. You shall hear the same from Embassy. Good Luck to your interview .. :) !!

In my case. as soon as I got my BC, first I do is got the scan, photocopy and laminate it :D..(I got it 2 days back) ..

coming to main query .. If we go by VJ comments...

Non Indian beneficiary are sure that laminated one wont be acceptable. and I think this is mainly because in US and many country documents are scanned as documented... some also have a bar code..

For Indian beneficiary, as you say we are more protective for all such doc and most of the people have such docs laminated..... and here in VJ, I do not see anyone from India has faced issue because of this... So I am hoping this wont be issue at least in India...

I called NVC to check if my CASE is created in system, NVC received case on 06/21/2017... Lady suggested that she will escalate it as even 2 week passed and your case is not created .. review might take 6 week...!   So I dont understand what review it is even before assigning case #. anybody here have same experience..?

Note :- We submitted I-864 with I130 but I think USCIS would have simply trashed them.. .

Since we didn't received a helpful response from the embassy about the laminated certificate,my parents tried to get a copy of my birth certificate from the municipal corporation delhi. I am pleased to say that we have got the latest copy of my birth certificate yesterday. What a relief. Still would carry the laminated one to the interview on 11th and would insist on accepting it as the Embassy has not given instructions about non acceptance of laminated certificate. Fingers crossed.

That's the plan. Didn't want to be in a situation where they would delay my file by not accepting the laminated original. So to be on safe side got the 2nd copy issued. Thankfully the officials were helpful and my parents didn't have to struggle for it.
