I am about to send my K1 docs in...

So where do we stand with this new ban??
- Is it blocked or not ?

- Is a K-1 Visa still accepted (if you are applying for a fiance that is in one of the banned countries).

Thanks everyone ahead  of time...

Hi

No it is not blocked because fiance is now a Bona Fide Relationship

so yes, you can get visa using K-1

So my K1 visa was just process at the NVC and sent to Yerevan for an interview. I also received an email from the embassy with the instruction on how to schedule my appointment. Unfortunately, the website where I am supposed to pay for the interview fee and schedule states that there are no upcoming appointments available at this time. I called the embassy and they told me to keep checking back until the consulate section opens something up.

considering that the travel ban is in full effect, we have to qualify for a waiver in order to get our visa. My lawyer said that they will determine if a waiver can be granted on the spot.

Is there anyone else here at this stage in the game?

What waiver would they possess? The waive of these travel restrictions is determined by the CO during/after application (i.e. the interview), not via a form or letter presented, AFAIK.

I’m a member of many forums and from what I heard this past week, fiancés are getting denied on the spot, even though many possess waivers! It’s a really bad time to go through any interview with this ban in full effect and if I were you, I would possibly try to delay an interview as long as possible! Or at least until the Supreme Court makes their verdict.

Also, I highly recommend a good Facebook group called, IMMIGRANTS UNITED. This group has over 14,000 members, and most are also impacted by the ban and have valuable advice to share. Here is the link:

From what I understand, I believe @geowrian is correct.. the CO is tasked with determining whether or not an applicant is eligible for a waiver on the the spot and we must provide them with whatever we can for them to make that determination.

@Leila120 thank you for the link.

Yes- I have heard of fathers, mothers, brothers, and even children being denied visas from Iran since the ban went into full effect. Our plan is to wait as long as we can until we get some good news, perhaps when the courts help sort his madness out.

Did you ask the embassy to extend your USCIS NOA2 expiration date? I think I will need to do that too.

Really?? See i was hopeful until i spoke to my attorney the other day. I moved back to the US 8 months ago to be domiciled from Dubai and after all this, thinking to come back as i have no clue how long this process will last. Not sure about NOA2, and if applicable coz im at the last stages.
