I am wondering if any other same sex couples have had delayed approvals ? It seems that many many more people on here are getting approvals in some cases 2 weeks after ours, I am wondering if same sex couples are being profiled for delays?

None that I am aware of.

All cases aren't processed in order. Sometimes cases received a week after yours is processed first because of several variables... RFE's, the person reviewing the petition, the amount of information/evidence provided, does the person work fast or slow, possible sick or vacation days that leaves your petition sitting around, ect...

You're just at a little over three months so well within normal processing.

Nobody can say for sure if there's profiling going on or not, but there's no known evidence pointing at that and there's no legal basis for them to do so. You're well within normal processing times. Some people who filed after you might be getting approvals, but I'm certain there are many others who filed before you still waiting.

I doubt it, some people filing their cases get lucky with an easy process and then others can get a painfully stressful process by waiting and waiting!

They have a backlog of cases I have been told, but very normal to be waiting 2 months for a reply, they say 30-60 days!

I hope you hear back soon from them,

Wish you all the best of luck

Well something seems to be happening overall certainly, Ben and Zions your noa 2 was 48 days, the time has nearly tripled since you got yours, but I called today and they are offically saying they are working on case for Jan 15th ...... but that is not reflective of what is on this site, I am just anxious, but I don't think this is the historical average people a ear ago were interview in 3 months and NOA 2 were less than 60 days.... something has happened at the department since the new administration took over

The process ebbs and flows, if you go back a couple of years people being processed through Texas could take a year to get approved whilst those at California flew through in weeks- not profiling and nothing to do with politics, just the luck of the draw unfortunately.

Everything crossed for a smooth and stress free journey

Yes, things are happening - they always do. But there's no indication same-sex relationships are impacted more or less than others. When I filed on Dec. 1st, NOA2 was taking just about 30 days. It took over 100 days. There was a huge surge in the number of petitions filed in late Oct. and Nov., then again in Dec. due to the fee hike kicking in. More petitions leads to more backlog. That's also a slow time of the year...lots of holidays and people taking time off. They're still taking 90-120 days on average...some much less and some much slower. That's just the way it goes. Go back a over a year and it was taking twice as long as it is now. Yes, the election (and subsequent results) likely impacted things by 1_ encouraging more petitions because of what may happen, and 2) any transition comes with disruptions and backlogs. But there's really nothing happening with your petition as a result of the current administration.

The support line will only be able to go by what is listed on their website as official timelines, which is updated once a month and is ~2 months out of date the day they post it (check the "as of" date).
