What reputable sources?

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

The only thing I've seen recently that OP might be referring to is a guideline to USCIS and DOS to enforce a Clinton administration policy regarding the public charge issue and affidavits of support for immigrant visas.  All that means is that borderline cases will be more closely scrutinized for sufficient income, more often co-sponsors will be needed, and even going after the sponsor of immigrants who use publicly funded programs, to force the sponsor to pay back the value of the public benefits used.  I posted one of these links a few days ago on the VJ news forum, I think the source was USA Today.  If enforced more strictly, it could reduce the number of immigrant visas (including spousal visas and AOS from K-1) approved.  Here's the link to the thread, article link and comments from VJ members:

I am inclined to say the OP is referring to the new policy being “introduced” based on a merit system.

As of now, the policy is far from any approval and/or serious discussion.

The plan is Ambiguous at best as to what is truly being introduced by the administration.

It has become a “talking point” for politicians and I don’t see anywhere yet where it will impact any of of us in the near future.

I assume most people know how a change of legislation happens and do not get wound up by the usual suspects.

Yeah because anything that they feel makes THIS administration look bad infuriates members on this board to no end. Not sure how or why there are so many Tr@mp supporters here. It's quite odd considering what he stands for. I think you have a legitimate concern, honestly. You're better off asking this question somewhere neutral. Say anything remotely negative about DJT here and it's off with your head.

Aaand cue all the angry MAGAts quoting me telling me how wrong and stupid I am.

So what does he stand for exactly? Because what I am seeing is that he wants the laws already on the book followed.

My understanding is they want to target visas for extended family.  I don't think we should be too concerned with spousal visas yet.  They also want to end "regenerative" visa abuse where green card holders invite family members, then they invite additional members, and so on.

The Hill, Fortune, Forbes. Is this enough? My God. Need to see my credentials? I am white. Republican and live in a southern state (all true by the way) Good God, people.  Just asking a basic question...a couple have given answers but others want to harp on what sources. Just forget it.

Well as matching mostly with you, white, Republican (not so conservative hah) and in Texas, I have to agree with others. I have not seen much on this either. I really think it's more speculation than anything. If it isn't direct from USCIS then I wouldn't pay any attention. You know how the media, even 'reliable' media has one or two people running around trying to scare everyone.

You may be generous in that assessment.

I think the interesting thing here is the way politics are brought into everything here.  Trump is all for legal immigration, and would like to see our system more aligned with our supposedly enlightened and progressive allies (generally, the EU countries, etc), but he also knows he is not a dictator and requires Congress to act for something like a change to the immigration system (which is very unlikely to happen).  I have yet to hear Trump tout the fact that he has a pen (implying an end around congress), now the previous occupant of the WH....
