If that happens we will put our power rings and assemble all of the superheroes of VJ for a special congress. That will not do a damn thing but that will still be more effective that Trumps attempt to shut down your process. I wouldn't worry.

Now that put a smile on my face! The support here is amazing, from everyone!!!

Have you thought of moving to the UK, get away from the Trump terror?

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

I also wouldn't say it's tensions between the UK and US, at least that's not the vibe I get.. obviously there's concern regarding incidents in the UK, but the US is already in paranoid mode. Trump isn't going to have much say so in the process, it's more going to relate to your background as the petitioner and the beneficiary's background, if the latter, or the relationship itself raises any red flags.

I'm an American and I am speechless right now with the tensions between US and UK😞

All I care about is spending my life with the man of my dreams who is a British citizen.

Is anyone else worried at all that this is going to get so bad it may cause problems with people trying to immigrate into the US from Europe through the fiancé visa?

You shouldn't need to worry. Our so-called president can't do much in terms of making the it more difficult from someone to immigrate, provided they check all the boxes.

Even his Muslim bans EOs have been met with constitutional opposition from all parts and many courts in the country.

Good luck with your K visa.

Thread is moved from Current Events to General Immigration Discussion and merged with the existing "speculation" megathread.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

This thread is to discuss what potential changes the Trump administration may make in the future.  It is NOT to be used to discuss actual, already published policies and their impact on our members- we have a separate thread for that pinned in our Immigration News forum. This thread is for speculation of the future.

Please use ONLY this thread to discuss the Trump administration's future immigration policies, in order to keep our other forums free from such discussion and not cluttered with political talk.

Interesting post considering it looks like the country 1/2 of you is coming from is Ireland.   Considering Trump's mother is from Ireland, I think there is NO chance of Trump banning people from Ireland.  I also think countries without majority Muslim populations will also be spared by Trump.   On Muslim majority countries, I think this will depend on what happens with SCOTUS and Trump's previous bans.  If they reject them, then it is not likely Trump is going to be successful in banning people from any specific country, unless we are at war with that country.  As far as I know, we are not war with any specific country.

Scares the hell out of me that Trump could ruin my future together with my fiance for good if he doesn't allow anymore visa applications I'm 3 months into waiting for NOA2 😲

You need to take a step back and realize what you are fearing here.  Especially since there is 0 to no chance of him doing something this irrational.  And must I remind you...Trump is the one that put the statue of Winston Churchill back in the oval office.  He's not an enemy to Britain or the UK by any stretch of the imagination.

This happens a lot with those going through visa journies.  Horror stories have been around before Trump and will continue after he is gone.  The best advice is to relax and breathe and not pull out your hair.  When I was going through the K1 and visiting my fiancé prior to the visa it seemed there were foreign relation issues popping up each time.  First, I was traveling for a visit during the time Snowden decided to take up residence in the Moscow airport and I thought great, I get to go through the same airport at the same time and who knows what will happen.  Then at the interview stage Russia annexes the Crimea, and I fully expected protesters in front of the US Consulate, but again nothing happened.  Everything was just in my mind in the form of worry.
