Yeah this is an interesting development.   I had hoped he would torpedo this thing.    But he seems to be slow playing.    After the press conference today it seems there will be a modified DACA coming.     How it's constructed..... who knows.

Your right it it will be interesting to see what happens.

Part of me thinks he's either

a) considering legalizing them with a path to citizenship (future voters)

b) giving a path to a greencard kind of like via the I-601.  Return and come back.

b) He won't deport them.

There is no Russian hack scandal.   Certainly not trump related.   The DNC was hacked and podesta gave someone his login to his email.

Neither of those is Trump related.  It's just more fake news to disrupt any real change to the government.

Same with Flynn.... nothing to show he did anything wrong except not tell Pence everything.  And that's not criminal .... it's just rude.

I'm not arguing with you over what is real and what is fake news. You believe what you wanna believe and I'll believe what I see happening.

No way he legalizes them....  your second option is one that I think has real merit.

He doesn't need to pander to Latinos.  He just needs to enforce the laws on the books.   People want laws to be enforced.     Plus he has gotten more Latino votes than any other republican and considering his hard stance on immigration and the southern border it's quite surprising.

As I stated before I believe that many were one issue voters.  For many Latino Catholics abortion is a hot topic and Pence is a major opponent of it.  A lot feel that he will successfully help take down roe v wade

A new memo from the DHS has leaked. This time not a rough draft, and I assume is guidance for some of what will be in the new EO. I read about this, I'm wondering if it may be another fake to weed out the source of leaks.

These bear the letterhead and Gen Kelly's signature, which makes them pretty official I would think. One point that stands out to me is the notion that one could be deported, if they stood merely accused of a crime and not even convicted. The privacy language and the VOICE thing also seems like there could be ways of falsely accusing an immigrant of a crime and having them deported.

For instance I know of a case out in California of an immigrant, who most likely entered the country, overstayed, and was 'working' in some capacity. They now stand accused of multiple felonies and have been held in prison awaiting trial since last year or so. It's a serious crime they are accused of. This document seems to imply instead of going through our criminal justice system we'd just chuck them out first, whether party was guilty or innocent, or am I reading that wrongly?

Interesting, I'm wondering if they perhaps are doing this as a deterrent rather than anything else.  Just look at the number of people who are less interested in coming to the US and even the illegal border crossings into Canada in the dead of winter.  If that is what they were going for, then this can only increase that, especially as summer rolls around.

I currently have Daca and I am in the process of green card through my spouse. I applied for advance parole about 2 months ago before trump was president, it hasn't been approved yet. But my concern is the re entry. My lawyer told me with trump and his travel ban I shouldn't travel since I have a DWI in my record. I am traveling to Mexico which is not included in the 7 countries banned. I contacted 3 lawyers and 2 told me I should travel since it would help with my adjustment of status. My lawyer and another I contacted told me it is too risky. Has anyone traveled with AP recently and had a problem? Also my Daca expires in about 3 months. Thanks.
