Correct me if I'm wrong but banning seven countries because of terrorism concern for the United States yet the last attacks were committed by US citizens.

Fort Lauderdale Airport shooter: American
Florida club shooter: American
Boston bombing: American citizens but born in non of the seven banned countries.
There were two mall shootings in November, I can not recall the exact places anymore; American
Church Shooting on colored US citizens, Dylan Roof; American.

This ban is a joke.

Oh my god, you all made my decision about no children a little easier  being 26 my biological clock does starts to scream 'HELLO ITS TIME, AAYYY BABY TIME!'

Back on topic; Republicans, it's just fine if they are pro-life, bare all the kids they want to but they should not tell me what to do with my own body and make rules for that. Teen moms are still around too much and they should be able to make their choice in having or baby or getting an abortion. And certainly not Donald, being a man - telling what I can and can not do with my reproducing organs. I'm very open-minded when it comes to subjects like this.

On immigration note; Let's go back to speculations. I really wonder if he's going to touch family based visas, any news on that coming out soonish?

I have never anticipated him touching family visas.  His family is based off family visas.   If anything these will be streamlined....   worker visas are going to take a big hit I believe.  Also AOS will probably be clamped down on them as well.    Precisely why you see Silicon Valley crying about Trump.

Oh man.   Hope Pakistan doesn't get put on the list.

you may need to look at life over there for a while or possibly elsewhere in the meantime if they are added to the list.

I actually wouldnt mind moving back but dont prefer because i am making really good money here

good thing is my manager personally knows someone VERY close to trump so that MIGHT help

Pakistan has a very good identification and record keeping system so i doubt it will be banned ... in addition, we  are doing a lot to fight terrorism and country is pretty clean now ... i dont mind the administration doing strong vetting....

Florida gay night club killer was second generation immigrant and traveled frequently back the ME.

His mosque is fairly close to me and it has been a problem for about 15 years.   There have been several instances of violence coming from their members.   It's well known locally.   They all travel back and forth to the ME.

Yeah I don't see Pakistan being added anytime soon.

I am glad my fiancé is not from the ME, but if her country was on the list I would move over there until we could sort it out If there was a problem.

Heck we could just go live in Poland and live like kings.   I just need to cross the boarder one day every 3 months and I can stay in Poland as long as I wish.   And she could get a shengen visa fairly easy.

He was born and raised in New York. This ban is for concerns of those traveling to the US and planning an attack, that's why extreme vetting is becoming a thing now. Wake up, they're already inside. Most attacks come from US citizens themselves. I have more chances to be shot in Walmart by an idiot redneck than to be shot by a radical Muslim.

Way to avoid the rest of the post.    There have been 15 years of violence and nonsense from that mosque in fort pierce.    They travel back and forth from all over the ME.     From countries on and off that banned list.

We have had an immigration problem since the 1965 law.   Big difference between immigrants pre 1965 and post 1965.    That's why the "nation of immigrants" tag line is a bit disingenuous.

Here's the thing, we can argue or discuss all we want in this topic but we're all going to have different views on different things and how immigration matters are currently handled. One agrees with it, one does. One sees it as a ban, one doesn't. And certainly we're not all going to agree with what one thinks.

"We have had an immigration problem since  the 1965 law" yet here you are with an immigrant significant other. Ironic.

Yes I am.   Just because I have an immigrant fiancé/wife doesn't mean that we do not have a bad immigration policy.

Family based immigration has been largely successful.   It's the worker side of immigration that needs serious overhaul.

The 1965 policy has a lot of problems and has led to many of the issues.   I invite you to educate yourself on the policy and compare it to the policy before.... which was the 1924.
