Including a 4 star general that has been fighting with our military for 13 years was denied entry to visit his family. Incredible stupid EO compulsively drafted by clueless Miller and Bannon without DHS collaboration.

I'd like to read that story if you have a link.

Just saw this posted on the Washington Post:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/trump-administration-circulates-more-draft-immigration-restrictions-focusing-on-protecting-us-jobs/2017/01/31/38529236-e741-11e6-80c2-30e57e57e05d_story.html?utm_term=.d281d72269fd

Here's an actual quote:

Quote

"The Trump administration is considering a plan to weed out would-be immigrants who are likely to require public assistance, as well as to deport — when possible — immigrants already living in the United States who depend on taxpayer help, according to a draft executive order obtained by The Washington Post."

What do you guys think of this?

Agreed.   Which is why I didn't fly off the handle at obama even when he decided to blatantly not follow laws that were passed by lawmakers.

I like living in a country with laws.   That's why I made sure to vote republican this time.

How did you prove in your immigration process that you didn't use tax payer money? Just curious.

What if an immigrant next to you paid more taxes than you did? Does he get a higher priority?

He probably should right? Since technically priority should be given for immigrants with the highest impact on the economy.

I think the government should enforce affidavit of supports, but by the simple thought process above, we may start getting different prioritization based on income. I'm not particularly worried about that, but also not a legal expert to decide whether such things are constitutional or not.

So, if you're a green card holder, and you ever used Medicaid, I believe based on the draft you could be deported. Not necessarily a bad thing, but is this expected? Even if such legal resident paid taxes?

Im sure you were equally railing when donald tried to de-legitimize the ex prez the past 5 yrs? I mean, gotta be fair to all sides, right?

Most fair minded Americans have zero tolerance for illegal immigration. And equally zero tolerance for tax evaders, civil rights violaters, etc.

I am the petitioner.    I run my own business (real estate services).  I don't use any tax payer money.   I am actually getting raped by the government every which way.

I am with you on affidavits of support enforcement.   Not sure how they could enforce that however and would it be subject under bankruptcy protections?

If an immigrant used any tax payer funded social services then they should be put on notice to be deported if their petitioner doesn't pay the bill.   If it's not enforceable then give them 30 days to pay or be deported.

I wouldn't be against using the Australian style point system to create a priority.   This way we get the most skilled people.

In realty immegrants use a lot less benefits and there for tax payer mony, then non immegrants, and to ban them when they become a public burdon is crazy. That is what benefits are for, to help people when they need it, and they pay for that in form of tax when they dont need it. illegal immegrants dont get benefits, so we are talking about legal immigrants here, they pay taxes the same as everyone els. why would they have to pay taxes ,often doing jobs that most american dont even want , and then when they get ill they just get booted out of the country. poeple are always acting like you can just come in and then start collecting benifits or something, you really dont just get benefits, there has to be a good reason for you to get it, and its often not a lot and higly dependent on how much you earned when you were working.

Everybody should be judged the same and treated the same.
If it is unjustified for some reason to get benefits, that should be unjustified for all, and that reason has nothing to do with beeing an immegrant or not.

It has to do with the person and his motives as an indevidual.
