Sorry, another quick question please. Does he have to keep his full time job while the EAD is processing & till it's issued? Like does he have to keep the full time job for these 3-4 months of the EAD?

as we plan to stay with a relative for thesein few months (in order not to pay rent)till i get the EAD and work

I don't know about this. He might have to work even until you the green card. Honestly, I don't know. The issue is that if they check the information on the form before giving you the green card, and the information on the form doesn't check out (because he left the job), I don't know what would happen. They might ask for another sponsor.

This is what i have been thinking, it's becoming too overwhelming lol. I will actually be doing the visa in kuwait since i live there now. It's quicker in kuwait.

I absolutely feel confused right now, ihave no idea what visa to file for now, and have no idea when to file for it 😅

I think that you should do what works best for you. Why would you have to rush to move to support him while he studies? I find that odd. It sounds like you will be doing all the work and that could put too much pressure on you and the relationship. Plus, nothing guarantees you would get either visa on time for when he has to start college.

I am not trying to be negative at all. Just that you should take some time and think what you would like to do. Maybe if you are interested in continuing your studies, you could apply for PhD program, and try to go to the US that way. You would live in the same country and take it slow, visit, take holidays together. PhD programs are fully funded (scholarship for tuition + fellowship for living).

On the other hand, if you'd like to go an work, he might be able to study part-time and work part-time Fall 2018, particularly if he gets a job on campus. He could move to full-time in Spring semester. I am sure you'd be able to work by the Spring semester with either visa. You should also consider that finding a job is not always fast, particularly one that you like.

Maybe a good idea is to do like a calendar for the next two years and try to plan where you would like to be and what you'd like to be doing. It is unfortunate the visa issues take so long.

Look into PhDs. You apply to the PhD program and most of them have full funding. When you get admitted, first you will do the Master and then you start the PhD. Some people leave with the master because they realize they don't want to pursue the PhD. But if you apply, always say you are interested in the PhD.

If you apply just to the Master, usually they don't have scholarships. There are a few out there but it is rare.
