Hello,

Quick background... I live in the U.S, my fiance is Guyanese but left there when he was around 15 and is now an immigrant in Barbados. Our i129f was approved and we have been dealing with the US embassy In Barbados for our K1. There seems to be conflicting info on their websites as opposed to the packet they send and trying to get answers has been difficult as they refuse to properly respond to emails if they respond at all.   I have a couple of questions for anyone who has dealt with the US embassy in Barbados. I understand that they schedule the interview appointment for you once you indicate that you have completed the DS 160 etc. Do they also schedule the medical exam for you? Their website says you just walk in but the packet says they schedule it. Also, since he is an immigrant in Barbados, upon our marriage in the states does he automatically lose his immigrant status in Barbados or can he maintain it by visiting at certain intervals? We are exploring the option of retiring there and are curious about that. Lastly,  when he filled out the DS 160 he paid a fee and scheduled a visa appointment only for us to later realize that the embassy sets the appointment so we canceled the date that he set. Is that money forfeited?
