I-864ez or regular I-864

Hi, I hope someone can help me. I make enough money to bring my mother and my husband to the United States. The thing is, I have 2 different petitions and will have different case numbers  at NVC. My question is, should I complete the form I-864 or I-864ez for each one?

Hi Leidyacosta,

 

You must complete one form for each petition, so one for your mom and one for your husband. In regards to which form to use, the easiest and simplest one to use would be the I-864ez BUT you must ensure that you qualify to use it.

 

Per the instructions on the I-864ez form....You may use Form I-864EZ if ALL the following conditions apply:

1. You are the person who filed or is filing Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative, for a relative being sponsored;

2. The relative you are sponsoring is the only person listed on Form I-130; and

3. The income you are using to qualify is based entirely on your salary or pension and is shown on one or more Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Form W-2s provided by your employers or former employers.

 

In my own case, I qualify on all 3 points above and will be submitting the I-864ez form for my mom and another one for my dad. 

 

Remember you must treat each application as its own separate application.
