My concern is my brother filed a petition for me in 2003 and recently I have made a enquiry about the status, it seems that they had sent a approval notice to my brother in US, but the post office could not deliver it, it may create serious issues in your petition. But I also had received approval notice in India. So kindly tell me what I have to do resolve this issue, because my priority date is current.

Have you or your brother ever gotten a letter from NVC requesting documents and were they sent? Or gotten a NVC case number or case complete letter?  Because after approval from USCIS cases go to NVC and these are some of the additional steps that need to be complete before you can even get an interview.  Also with NVC once they send you a correspondence you usually have one year to respond or there are negative effects on your case.

 

My Journey

Priority Date: July 24, 2007 (EAC)

AOS fee paid: February 2013

Request embassy change: May 2013

Son born: September 2013 (added to petition March 2014)

Interview: March 17, 2015 (Joint sponsor needed)

Joint sponsor documents submitted: April 27, 2015

Visas approved and issued: April 30, 2015. Had to return to embassy to do oath for son :)

Visa in hand: May 5, 2015 (two working days after issued)

IV fees paid: August 10, 2015

POE: JFK - September 10, 2015 (one day before visa expiry date - No hassle)

Returned to Barbados: September 28, 2015

Green cards: October 5, 2015 :dancing:

Entered US permanently: March 22, 2016

Applied for SSNs: March 28, 2016 (didn't tick box on DS-260)

SSN received: April 4, 2016;

Learner's permit: April 7, 2016 (in NY you also have to do 5-hour class);

Driver's License: July 13, 2016 (on first try) :dancing:

Husband's Journey (F2A)

Married: September 2015

I-130 sent: October 8, 2015 (via USPS)

Priority date: October 9, 2015 (WAC)

Petition approved: March 8, 2016 (5 months to the date of receipt) :)

NVC Welcome Letter: May 13, 2016
AOS documents sent: August 8, 2016
Case complete: September 14, 2016 (the waiting continues:clock:).

Interview:  October 5, 2017 (Approved - Issued following day :))

Visa in hand:  October 12, 2017

POE:  October 13, 2017

Green card:

SSN:

I would HIGHLY recommend  not to post a document where other people can see the case number, address and the A-number.

ROC Timeline

08/16/19: sent I-751 packet to USCIS Lockbox in Dallas

08/19/19: packet received by USCIS

08/21/19: received text message with case number ( Texas Service Center)

08/23/19: check got chashed

08/26/19: received extension letter in the mail

11/14/19: Biometrics appointment

04/28/20: case got transferred to my local field office in Atlanta

05/28/20: New Card Is Being Produced

05/29/20: New Card Got Approved

06/02/20: We Mailed Your New Card

06/03/20: The Post Office Picked Up Your New Card

06/04/20: Card Was Delivered To Me By The Post Office

Call USCIS and ask if they can send the document again.

Not sure if you'll be able to call USCIS, but you can try to call NVC to provide them your case No., which was given at USCIS, other details and explane, that you have never received a letter from NVC stating, that your case was forwarded from USCIS to NVC and you don't have your case No. at NVC. They could provide you this and tell the status of your case.
