I'm planning to visit my fiancé in New York for a vacation (only 3 days) in mid July but my visa is now in transit....

im a little unsure of my options now, do I :

1. Book an interview with a ds-160 for my last 5 current us travel dates ?

2. Book an interview with a da-160 completed with the trip in July added (although it's a future date) ?

3. Book an interview with a ds-160 for my last 5 current us travel dates AND use an updated confirmation bar code as well as the original (barcode used to book interview) on the day of the interview

Thank you!

Your visa is not in transit. You don't have a visa yet. All you have right now is an approved petition allowing you to apply for a visa.  The DS-160 is the visa application form. Fill it in accurately for the day you submit it. Tell the interviewer on the day, that you had another trip to the US since you applied for the visa and ask if he wants to amend your record on file. They would only be concerned (for security purposes)  with trips made to known terrorist countries. It gets a little more complicated to access and amend the DS-160 yourself, but it's possible. If you do that, only the latter bar code is shown on interview day. The previous is invalid. Or you can just wait until your trip is complete to pick your interview date.

If anyone does want to know the answer to this- which I've since got (spoke to the NVC).

They've said to go ahead and submit and book interview on info I have currently and change anything that I need to before the interview and bring BOTH barcodes (the one I submitted with and the latest updated version of this).

You have to "retrieve" your application and amend the form - you will get a new barcode at the end.

Apparently this happens a lot when there's mistakes on the form :)

I hope this helps anyone else in a similar position!

For minor amendments you don't have to if you can't (i.e. Travel dates etc) but for gender , typos in name etc always create a new barcode!

Right, but the London website says you have to contact them to "unlock" your file In order to retrieve it and amend it. Contact is by their website contact form, not phone. Response varies by days.  So just a few extra layers. Others who have corrected only needed the most current confirmation so they pulled up the correct one for the interview.
