ive had my US visa which got expired, ive once visited us during the visa tenure of 5 years. recently ive applied visa with my family kids and wife. however the interviewer declined the visa stating your visa can not be processed today and handed me with a white form detailing that 214B section act is applied. i am an expatriate living and working in UAE(dubai). now once i came back within 2 days i am replaying the visa and this time i am only applying for myself to provide the substantiates that i am leaving my family as ties to return back. my questions are following,

1- is it a good move to reapply immediately as i have my plans to travel now without family sinc ei have my leave approved.

2- why do you think my visa was rejected along with family. i have been traveling around the world with never any rejection.

please shed some light to my case i have got the appointment now in July so need you people elaboration.

Applying again so soon is dangerous. That certainly looks desperate. Especially applying without your family. Do you honestly expect the Consular Officer to believe that a working husband and father is going to leave his wife and children behind and go on vacation alone?

If your leave has already been approved then go somewhere else with your wife and children. Why does it have to be the USA? Do you have family here?

You're denied under Section 214(b) because you couldn't prove your strong ties back home. This is a common yet not permanent refusal. Although you can re-apply at any point, it is best to wait for another year or so (just to be prudent). Trying to reapply so soon with or without your family makes you look desperate.

Also, the next time you're applying for a new B2, make sure you have as many proofs as possible to convince the consular of ties that you're not willing to abandon. Another thing to always remember is to not purchase any flight tickets that aren't refundable before you get your visa in hand.

Your past international travels probably weren't taken too seriously because you're after all an expat family living overseas. The social ties just doesn't seem that strong. That's just my speculation anyways. Spend some time re-planning your vacation instead :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.
