Yay congratulations!!! When did you receive your NOA1? I live in Birmingham, where are you moving to?

I have recently begun the K1 process. Got our noa1 yesterday.

I am the beneficiary in the UK, and my fiancé is a USC.

Im a little nervous personally as my fiancé (the petitioner) does have a criminal background. Mine is clean and I'm in a professional career. I'm worried how it will turn out when it gets further down the line. He has children so makes sense for me to move to the US.

Unless his offense comes under the Adam Walsh act then you should have no problems, you may be asked about the convictions at interview but that's to make sure you know about it.

Congrats to those who've got the visa (sorry my quote failed!) 😁

 to everyone

I came on a K1 and have been here 16 months now :)

Everything crossed for a smooth and stress free journey

Are you living in the Charlotte area?  I am in Greenville, SC but have lots of friends and family in Charlotte.  I am picking my fiancé up from the Charlotte airport this evening.  :D

That's good to know.

he has nothing involving children.

10 year old conviction (probation) with drugs and recent restraining order from ex. The mother of his children filed it for him wanting to see his kids and the other after a non violent argument.

No we're just outside Asheville, we were in Greenville SC yesterday it's only a quick trip up the I26 :)

Charlotte is somewhere close to a black hole that confuses all sat nav! and the airport is massive, like a city within a city - had to go there to collect my dog, I always fly via Atlanta into Asheville 😆

You should be fine, apart from sex offenses USCIS is primarily concerned with the immigrant :)

Ah, ok! I love the Asheville area.  It is one of the places on my list of places to take my fiancé. :)  Yes, Charlotte is ridiculously large and busy.  And the airport is definitely large.  Not as confusing as Atlanta though!  lol  Our airport in Greenville is more the size of the Asheville airport so definitely much more quaint.

So refreshing to know! Really appreciate it.

It must have been a great feeling getting that one way flight to be with your fiancé!

I was mostly terrified my big white envelope would get damaged and they wouldn't let me in, I've never guarded anything like I did that 😂😂

lol I've read a few people say the same thing on this forum.

Did you travel to see your fiancé after filing?  If so, what evidence did you take to make them know you would be definitely returning back to the UK?

Just booked a flight!

Will take a letter from work as well as the flight itinerary that will show that I have paid for my return flight.

Awhh yay congratulations!!!

I'll have a look on your timeline, let us know how your interview goes! :)

How was the medical, did you take a letter with your immunisation record etc with you? Can I ask how long did it take you to get your police certificate back? I'm not sure whether to apply for that now but someone said its only valid for 6 months so not sure if I should risk it if it comes back quite quickly!

Good luck with your interview hun :) xx

Instead of what "someone" said, you can go to your consulate page and see what the ones conducting your interview say. https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/required-documents/

Scroll down and find "Police Certificate for the United Kingdom".
