Yes that's true. My fiance used to live and work in Fairfax VA. I think that's close to Arlington. He still goes there a lot since his best friends and relatives live there. Hopefully we can meet there. Who knows!? Hehe

Hey there @NovaDC!

I lived in Fairfax for graduate school.  Arlington and Alexandria are close by, it's all the greater DC area.  It's a very affluent area, but it does have quite a bit of diversity.  One thing I noticed though is that most ethnic groups stay with each other (i.e. Latinos with Latinos, etc.) so there wasn't much mixing of cultures.

There's nothing you can do until 5 months have passed, you're still within the normal processing time. I waited for 6 months before I got my approval (made service requests when we reached 5 months since the received date).

hi @Scandi, what did you mean about made service requests?. We received Noa1 on January 17th and haven't heard anything until now (156 days of waiting).

We sent request to congresswoman June 5th but at that time, USCIS informed our congresswoman that they're still processing December 15th.

Last week, my fiance called USCIS and talked to Tier 2 officer. He informed him that they're processing January files and told him maybe he will receive it anytime now. Until now we don't receive anything yet. Should we wait until it hit 180 days (6 months)?. Or should we contact our congresswoman again to get help about this?. As you've experience this long wait, i hope it can ease our mind for not worry a lot :). I am looking forward for your reply.

Thank you in advance,

NJ

You can put in a service request on their website if you're outside normal processing time: https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/Intro.do

You can also call them and have them put in a service request for you. Sometimes you need to work them a little bit before they agree to put in a SR for you, sometimes they give you that option on their own accord. Totally depends on who you get to talk to.
