Hi all!

I guess I was too anxious to file before June 9th I assumed I had the correct petition this whole time.  I did call and they said just to complete the new edition from April which has questions on different numbers on the new petition.  I was sent my whole packet back with the payment and was told to resubmit with the new edition petition.  They said I can use my old back up documents from my original petition, but do you think I should just change the header on the supplemental document about our meeting to the new question number on the new petition and I should be ok? Now, I have to wait for a background check since I did have a DUI and the first petition did not require you to disclose, but the new one asks if you've ever been convicted of ANY crime other than traffic violations.  I'm nervous and wonder what you thought?? Does anyone know if I should just disassemble my original packet and correct them in my new submission?

Did you send the old I-129f form then, or another type of form?

Hey,

I can understand your anxiety and sense of urgency to get the process rolling. But, in the long run, you'll be mentally (and procedure-wise) more successful if you take it a bit slower and file carefully.

Take your old rejected petition and disassemble it. Take out all your proofs of relationship, letter of intent to marry, etc.

Reuse all those documents which are going to be ultimately resubmitted. Since your signed documents (letter of intent to marry, circumstances of meeting) are relatively recent, you can submit them without modification or fear of expiration.

Next, figure out how to get your certified DUI documents. Do you have to visit the courthouse? or do you already have a copy? Attach complete documents once you receive them.

Next, fill out the new I-129F petition completely paying attention to the criminal history section. Discard the G-325a.

Triple check everything before resubmitting. Remember to include the rejection notice inside (if you're instructed to do that).

After that, cross your fingers.

BTW, the older form also asked you to disclose DUI if it was 3 or more occurrences. Which I believe is the same requirement this time around, if I'm not mistaken.

Thank you Kumar 01, much appreciated! I went and got fingerprinted last week to request a copy of my records and once I receive that I will go back and resubmit my petition and back up documents and pray it all goes well!  I only had 2 occurrences which is why I did not disclose that on the older form, but I used a really old edition from April of last year. :( Thank you again! I will follow your instructions to a T and pay close attention to all the details! Take care!!
