Need help - AOS Pregnant

Hi,

 

I am currently on a tourist visa and married my boyfriend. I am 4 weeks pregant and just as we're about to submit our concurrent filing, my medical showed that im TB positive, my doctor told me that most filipinos twstwd tb positive because of the bcg vaccine we had. 

 

Since im pregnant, xray is not possible. May I know if we can still submit our petiton?

 

When i was in the philippines we had our annual physical exam at work last March 2017, can i use the xray films?

 

I also want to have a job to support my baby and other needs.

Taking TB medication while pregnant is also not good. Having TB while pregnant is equally very bad. See your OB and an infectious diseases specialist and follow their recommendations about the TB issue. Many pregnant women have X-rays, it's a benefits vs risks thing. Your abdomen can be shielded if it's deemed necessary to have an X-ray. You need to know what's going on for health and your baby's health.

Yes you can send in the application and do medical later before your interview

How can you include it if you don't do the medical. 

 

Yes you can send it in and yes you will get an RFE for it but often they just ask you to bring it with you to the interview because you will have an interview and right now they are behind with interview so you might have the baby before your interview.

 

Also again remember you can not work until you get your EAD which takes 3-4 months from when you send in the AOS package.

I would still want to make sure if it was me and I was pregnant. That's not something to mess around with

Do get a second opinion. We get bgc vaccines in Chile too and I did not test positive in my medical examination.

Like others said, it's not something to take lightly, especially if you are pregnant.

It is quite common to have a positive response to the Tuberculin skin test when vaccinated with BCG as a child. This means one has an immune response to the BCG antigen, not that one has TB.

 

In many European countries, where the BCG vaccine was widely used, the skin test is not being done as there are sooooo many false positives. Everything is done by X-Ray.

 

A chest X-Ray while pregnant is generally safe as lead aprons cover the re-productive tract.

 

Alternatively, there is a blood test for TB that is more accurate than the Tuberculin skin test and much less liable to be false positive. It is called Quantiferon-TB.

I had a similar situation, I was pregnant and the doctor wanted me to do the x-ray. 
if you had the immunization the skin test will most likely test 'positive'. My kids had the same reaction because they have had the vaccine too.
I have done a little bit reading about it and apparently the x-ray is harmless.
You are more likely to be exposed to more radiation on a long distance flight then from an x-ray.
