We are trying to get some help from Denver, CO to ensure that I've filled out the I-130 correctly. I am absolutely terrified about making a mistake, knowing it can make my wife have to stay longer in Belgium.

With that said - I'm still here in Belgium, the US Embassy outright refuses to talk to us unless we get special exception, even if we did - it would take 4-6wks, and by then I'll be gone from here, so filing in Belgium is impossible (also they make it impossible to pay the filing fee from here). I am feeling completely lost & heartbroken, frustrated and pulled back and forth. The I-130 form on here is not up to date, so it's not a help to me. I am 100% a visual & hands on learner, so without a physical review to tell me our paperwork is ok, I'm terrified. Also, I have tried to set an appointment with https://my.uscis.gov/appointment - none available, EVER - so how do I make this happen? When I return to CO, I am a full time worker and full time student in Colorado Springs (1hr:15min south of the Denver office) I literally don't have the ability to just show up for a day and wait there.

Otherwise, we have no one review our papers, and just submit them the day after I land in the US to get this going. My wife is also terrified about the process, I consider ourselves lucky we don't have children, but we haven't been able to speak to a single person on a phone about the issues. She has so many questions, especially since she's in Belgium and I'll be in the US, she feels she'll miss the information. USCIS also doesn't get back to emails, I've reached out before and it took 15 days for a reply - 15 days! and they didn't even reply to  my question - it just let me know they got it.

I'm sorry to burden anyone here but we're feeling the pressure and I really didn't think it would be this hellish to find help (like a person we can actually talk to - can't afford lawyers, so please don't suggest that, we appreciate it though).

Thank you for listening to me rant - if you know of any successful number, or have advice, again I'm grateful. Best to you and your own visa journeys.

Trust me, going from the absolute beginning of this immigration journey to the very very end I know it is stressful and agonizing.  However, worrying is only going to make the process worse.  You do not need a professional to review your paperwork.  The questions should have exact answers at the time of filing.  Have a friend review the paperwork to see if it is logical and sensical (is that a word?).  Then submit the paperwork.  You will receive a Request for Further Evidence (RFE) if anything is missing or needs to be clarified.  We received an RFE and it only delayed our case about 2 weeks....but when you waited 178 days another 14 is ok.

Have your wife join VJ to have her questions answers and her worries addressed.  She can post in the regional specific forum if that is more helpful or language is an issue.

Good luck, breath!  This is a very supportive community here to help you.

Not surprising at all. Belgium does not have a USCIS field office so unless you have an absolute emergency situation, you can't file the I-130 there. Your chances of being able to file there were extremely low to begin with, so don't take it personally that they won't let you file there.

You're overthinking this. You don't need to make an Infopass appointment to file an I-130. It's all done via mail and thousands of people do this DIY without lawyers or 'professionals' to help them. Forget about making an Infopass appointment. People here on VJ are likely to be much more helpful. You'll find almost all the answers to your questions here on VJ, tons of people are in the same boat and others have years of experience with US immigration. Don't worry, you'll figure it out. This site is an amazing resource.

I did not use a service.  I did it myself.  I read the boards here and saw how other people filled out the papers.    I would not even attempt to complete the paperwork in another country.  The I-130 is just the application of the US Citizen.  My suggestion is wait until he returns to the United States.  If he is uncomfortable doing it himself, he should call his local bar association in Denver and get a referral for an immigration lawyer.

I remember there was a discussion about people having a great experience using a visa service.. I thought it was you talking about it.. oops!! It was def someone else.. :)
