Hi there,

I am filling for change of status. I got married last month and so it's family based.

I am filling in form I-325A and am stuck on 5 years of previous address history.

This is a somewhat simplified list of residencies and movements over the last 5 years and as you can see it is somewhat complex. i have seen different answers on whether to include student addresses ( I have 1 in the uk and one for a semester in Canada) and also i had a long period of travel where I was not in the uK, but my belongings were at my parents which was also my mailing address for the majority of the time. I also spent 6 months with my partner at a community in Mexico which we may well spend time in the future as members but we didn't move there, we were just classed as visitors as far as mexico was concerned so does this even count as a 'residence' - the dictionary definition is a place where you reside for extended amount of time so under this definition we were 'resident'.

Lastly, what about including my addresses in California? Last year I lived with my partner for 6 months (whilst on a visitor visa) so technically i was just visiting so is it wise to say this was a 'residence'? and if not do I put my parents UK address for this period even though i wasn't there for over a year by that point?
