Has anyone use an attorney on this forum and will recommend?

If your case is not complicated then I would not suggest a attorney. I used a attorney for my then fiance's visa and I wished I had saved my money. They do next to nothing for you that you can't do for yourself.

Right> Thanks for your response. I was just wondering if they will be of any help looking through documents and explanation letter.

If you pay an attorney, they should do their best to help prepare your case but I've seen on a few VJers complaining about the attorneys they had for not helping them down the road during the interviews and such. I remember one who had to postpone his I-751 interview just because his attorney last minute told him he cannot make the trip. Just in any business, there are good ones and bad ones. If you are gonna get one, make sure he/she has good reviews and reputation; and be there for you whenever you need.

I can recommend a specific  attorney NOT to use.......

My attorney is not listed here, but I will answer your question about whether or not it is worth the expense. This is just my opinion, but to me it was well worth the cost of the attorney to not have to stress over whether or not I had filed everything correctly. VJ is really a great resource that helps many to find success. It has been a great learning tool for me and I feel like it has taught me a lot about the many details of the immigration process that the attorney just does not have time to sit down and discuss with me. The problem I had was that people on here do not have the exact answer you are looking for in every scenario. For almost anything you may encounter, someone here can guide you in the right direction. But there were a couple times when I wanted to educate myself on the process and nobody had a concrete answer for me. There were even some contradicting responses which left me puzzled. That is when I truly found value in having an attorney file, because they had all the answers for the questions nobody could answer.

I looked at having an attorney as an insurance policy just in case something went wrong. Our case was not that complicated, but I wanted someone who could take care of our case in the event that complications did arise.  I did not want to spend time worrying over every detail by putting all the paperwork together myself. I did not want to waste time on an RFE and wanted everything done right the first time. It was well worth the money because all I had to do was provide the the lawyer with the documentation they asked for and then wait for USCIS. Much easier having someone who has done this a thousand times than to try and go it alone.

That being said, make sure if you use an attorney that you use one that specializes in immigration. Make sure they have a proven track record, because you are paying to have them get it right the first time. Our attorney was referred to us by a trusted friend who they had had success with. The success they had and their vouching for the attorney as a good one was enough for me to feel comfortable working with them. I cannot stress enough the importance of making sure you have a good attorney. You are putting your case in their hands. I know people who have been scammed by attorneys who had no experience with immigration cases, but who were quick to take their money. When it was discovered later down the road that they had no idea what they were doing after the money had been paid, suddenly they stopped answering phone calls. They could have avoided lost time and money had they done their homework beforehand. So just keep that in mind.

Hello fellow VJers. I see contact lawyer/attorney sub-menu here on the VJ website. Was wondering if anyone has used any from here and would recommend them. Is it worth the money spent?

Unless your case is complicated you don't really need one. We had a lawyer for our K1,,  but we didn't really need one, in fact I feel it made our case far more complicated than it should have been in certain circumstances along the way.

Since then,  I have filed for a lost green card, a transportation letter, when I had a card stolen and was abroad and adjustment of status also ROC without one, with no rfe up to date. I have also read posts on here where lawyers have  given incorrect information to their clients.

Most of the information you need that is current and up to date can be found on this forum, I guess at the end of the day it is how confident you feel  about filling in the paper work without one. Its a matter of personal choice, but I do recommend that if you decide to hire an attorney do your research about them before going ahead.

Removal of Conditions..  TICK TOCK, TICK TOCK

Time to reset the tick tock clock again.   Roll my eyes.

GC  Conditional date:  05/26/2015

N400.  Application:      02/28/2018

Biometrics:                    02/22/2018

Waiting............    Roll my eyes again :(

Exactly......our attorney told us a certain document would suffice as evidence for my wife's previous divorce..........but the visa issuing officer did NOT accept it, and he gave her a 221g slip at her interview.  Thankfully, she was able to obtain the acceptable document and she submitted it the same day.....but it delayed her visa for a day or so.

No problem at all, just putting out my opinion. But seriously I would save the money and file yourself and just VJ if there are any questions. There have been times on here that people with attorneys were asking questions because their attorney was not responding back to them at all.
