One way ticket for parents visiting USA

Hi there

I plan to bring my elderly parents to visit me in the US. I am planning to buy a one way ticket for them, no return tickets, as i am not sure how long they will be visiting me (2-3 month). Can this cause an issue at the entry point in the US in Toronto, Canada such as they may be denied  an entry in the US?

Thanks much

G.

Better to get round trip tickets. You have to remember, it is not you nor your parents who decides how long they can stay in the US. The POE can only make their I94 valid for two weeks. Also, not having evidence that they will not return may look suspicious. It has been asked on this forum before. read the following thread...

They may not be able to board the flight without a return ticket as has been the case on VJ in the past.  Please book a return trip ticket for the expected date of return.

Good luck

You can buy a return ticket and play extra to keep the return date open. Like one that allows you to change the specific date in case they want to leave early or change the specific date they get back.

Does Canada have VWP? One of the requirements is to have a return ticket.

Presumably they have bought travel insurance for a specified period?

Take it from someone who's wife (then girlfriend) was refused entry because of the very same thing, make sure you have return tix for them.
