Hi Everyone!

My husband (sponsor) worked for a company for the past 7 years and quit his job in January 2017 to start his own business. He has his tax returns  that meets the minimum requirement to be my sponsor, but he Is still working on his contractor license to start the operations.

He has the business LLC paperwork (the business is open) but he hasn't issued any contract or invoice so far, we can't prove any current income.

He he has enough in his savings, a truck and motorcycle (assets), I would like to know how to meet the requirements since his company is not current operating (we don't have any contracts or invoices to attach).

What should I send to meet the requirements? Schedules and a letter explaining he's working on it, should we send a copy of his bank account savings, copy of the truck and motorcycle registrations?

I appreciate your help!

Thank you!!!

Hi,

As far as I can see, you would need to use your assets.

If he is a USC, it will be 3x 125% of the poverty level for the family size (If you are in F2A it would be 5 x) . So, if you are 2, in most states this will be around $60000 in cash, bonds, equity in his house, his motorbike (if he has a second one or another car). Cash will work best. Also I would explain and attach a short business plan, explaining that the start up is supposed to make money very soon.
