Questions of DS-160

Hi all,

I have a question about filling DS-160. I have B2 tourism visa to the States. but the first time I applied it, they denied my application,I think because the travel agent didn't fill in my form correctly. So the second time, I did it by myself and I got approval.

Now I also need to fill in this form for K1 visa. I want to know on the part of "have you ever gotten denied". what should I put in? Only mentioned the date when I got denied or I need to explain the reason? Any comments for it?

Check the box yes, state the approximate date and the denial reason.

Yes, you absolutely need to mention the first tourist visa denial. If you don't know the exact reason for why you were denied, just explain that. I would just write "Refused a tourist visa. I don't know the exact reason for the denial." if you don't remember the exact reason why. The fact that you were later approved means you aren't under any suspicion. Don't worry about it but be honest.

Thank you for your answer. I really don't know the exact reason,what I guessed was because the travel agent they didn't compelete my form correctly,as I asked them to give me back what they submitted,they rejected to give it back to me, I didn't know should I mention the agent for the first time?

I think you can mention the agent, sure. Since you were approved later on, I honestly don't think they'll care too much or even pay much attention to it. Just just be honest about the refusal and you should be fine.
