Tourist visa to visit my boyfriend

Hi,

 

Like gentlegrace, my boyfriend wants me to visit him. Since he cannot leave work for a week and he has kids. 3 of them. Also, i am a single mother, working in my country, and i live with my family. I will be going alone in this trip for safety purposes. This is the first time that my boyfriend and I will meet each other. Basically, our plans are only to get to know each other personally and see if his kids will like me. I also read that visiting him then marrying him in my entry will reflect negatively for an immigrant visa in the near future. Is there a chance for my visa to be approved?

Hello. I haven't posted on V J for a very long time but have some advice for you.

Find in Thailand the book Thailand Fever. Study it & insist he does too. He can find it on Amazon. This will help him understand things about Thais & you will see his real interest in learning what he must & maybe how much he will do to get to know you. He is asking a lot of you so make sure you ask something of him to add balance.

First you must concentrate on two things. The relationship is first. Second getting the visa. You are in the right place for both. There are very good members on V J to help you.

Are you going to try to get a tourist visa or fiancé type? Marrying him on a fiancé visa is exactly what it is designed for. Marrying him on a tourist visa can be done & you can go on to get another entry visa later. Do not attempt to enter on tourist visa with the intent of marriage. You will find it almost impossible to get a tourist visa anyway.

Hi,

 

I am a 26 year old, single mother and a filipina who wants to visit my boyfriend. Just like a cliché story, we met online. But it haven't been that long. He wants to meet but his work and kids are the reasons he cannot travel. So, he asked me to come instead. It will be an all expence paid trip to US. Visit some wonderful places, meet my boyfriend and his kids. So i agreed to it.

I have worked for the same company for a year only. Starting an online shop for clothes and cosmetics. Having two kids here in the Philippines, one is studying. Can i qualify for a visa? It's nerve wracking. I also read that being fluent in the language is no help either. My boyfriend wants to see me before his birthday on September. Is there a way to increase my chances for getting the visa? Or applying would only be a waste of time and money?

Under the circumstances, you will need very, very strong evidence that you will return home after your visit.  It would be much easier if he traveled to you.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

You are free to apply for a tourist visa. However, getting a tourist visa from PH is pretty rough normally, and being a single mother with a US-based boyfriend makes it a very tough case. Him paying for everything is permitted, but if you are unable to reasonably pay for the trip yourself, it implies a tie to stay in the US. Unfortunately, having children in PH is not that strong of a tie because others have visited and then stayed in the US, and brought their children over later.

 

Personally, I wouldn't say it's a waste of money to try, but be ready for a denial. The chances sound slim, but are not 0%.
