Please advise: Travel to the US on VWP. Why do some get denied entry?

Dear all,

given a different discussion threat in this forum, I am wondering...

I am traveling a lot to the US from Germany. Almost every 6-8 weeks for approximately 14 days - sometimes a little more and sometimes a little less.

My job is a teaching job and I have a lot of time off where I don't have to be present in my home country. I own real estate and have kids that are - most of the times - saying with their dad when I am travelling and sometimes come along.

I have no immigration intend when I am travelling and tend to keep letters and documents with me showing that I still have a job at home, my teaching and exam schedules that I am proctoring etc. Plus I have a track record of 15 years of never overstaying or not returning. But what is too much? Generally speaking, I do not spend more than 90-100 days split over multiple visits per year.

Do I have to be concerned? We are getting married next week and we are currently collecting all the necessary documents and we have no plan to start anything stupid! And yet, there is a three months summer break coming up for me and I am planning to stay two weeks in July and possibly in September.

Do I worry too much? Are those cases denied the ones that somehow did work in the US? Again, all my binding ties are in Germany and I am a tenured professor with life-time employment - nothing that one would give up for an illegal status.

Certainly that sort of regular pattern might attract attention.

Your Fiancee is moving to Germany?

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

People I've seen denied on VJ have been traveling too often to the US (like every 90 days or so they are back) or they come twice a year for the whole 90 days they are allowed on ESTA.

Going in July and then in September might be a stretch.

You should take documents to support your ties to go back to Germany. In WVP you have to prove more at point of entry than someone who has a visa and did a consular interview.
