So I received two e-mails today from the National Visa Center regarding our K-1 visa application.

The first one was addressed to me, the petitioner, stating that they received the case and gave me our case number and said that the application would be forwarded to the US Embassy.  It also stated that my fiancée could start filling out the DS-160.

The second e-mail was addressed to my fiancée (yet sent to my inbox) and it stated that our request to expedite processing of our case has been granted. The only thing is, we didn't make a request to expedite the case. CEAC says the case is "In Transit" to the embassy. Obviously this was an error, but we'd like to know if this has happened to anyone else and if I should give the NVC a call and ask about it.
