ask the International office at your university. You could get 1 year OPT (optional practical training) after graduation, or CPT (curricular practical training) after your first year. However, it must be related to your course of study, and authorized by your designated school officer.

I doubt fishing Salmon has something to do with your program. You could use CPT as someone said, but that takes away time from your OPT, which you will want. OPT allows you to work for one or two years after you graduate and get some relevant work experience.

 

The best way to earn money in the summer is to work in the university. To work in the university you do not need any type of authorization (CPT/OPT). You should look for temp jobs or lab work with professors, you can be a research assistant or you can even work at the library.
