It was the one we got when we got married. So all I supplied was a photocopy of that. Clearly I need a certified copy. I'm currently sitting in the courthouse waiting to get it right now!

Yeah it sounds like you gave them the white copy. It's not considered 'an official document' or 'valid' per say. The clerk explained it on the day she gave us all the paperwork ''it's sort of like a glorified souvenir, you can't even use it at the dmv or ssa so make sure you come back to get the real one''.

Good luck, I just hope the officer won't be a stickler. Make sure to send a copy of the RFIE again and another cover letter etc so that they know what case to match it up with. With the I-94 and the certified copy they'll be able to hopefully figure it out. :)

Thank you!

yes I really hope they let me piece it together. I'm even thinking of seeing if I can stop my original reply with FedEx somehow. Either way I will send everything this time including the copy of the RFIE letter again.

The request of initial evidence and request of additional evidence are threat totally different check this up https://www.uscis.gov/forms/tip-sheet-employment-authorization-applications-pending-more-75-days

send and check information before, in case some dates were wrong writen from any party.

The process is very stressful but at the end you learn to be patient and to double check everything. And this is little work together with your partner and have a lot of patient about silence from USCIS.

Best thing to do any time you have doubts and to get something right and official is to book an infopass, concerning big issues. Even if the only next available appointment  is 14 calendar days from the date.

Good luck!!!

Just as an update to this, I received a notification on the 20 June they had received my evidence and again on 22 June when my second batch was received. On 29 June my case status has been updated to say they are ready to schedule the interview so it looks like common sense prevailed

I would assume that they lost some of your information.  Something similar happened to me also.  When I got my RFE, it was for things I already submitted as well so i sent them back in along with any other extra relevant things just in case they didnt actually lose my stuff, but were just being difficult. Lol

In your case perhaps make a copy of your bundle submission, and be sure to include a letter attached to the top which specifically addresses what they put in your RFIE - maintain that you did marry within the 90 days, and call their attention to the i-94 and certified copy of the marriage license.  You may or may not want relatives or friends (one or two, no more than 3) who was present to just write a few letters testifying to the fact that a marriage took place on X date and they served as witnesses. Let them know that you submitted all this before and hereunder is a complete copy of the original submission since it included everything required to adjust status (make sure the marriage cert is an original certified copy). Best of luck.
