They do seem to have an issue about previous marriages. Could it be you missunderstood and they asked about your wife's previous marriages?  Or, have you had some sort of casual previous culutural wedding with another woman? Or perhaps lived with another woman before and a friend or neighbour of yours thoguht you were married and said something to the US embassy personel?

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

Good day,  my first petition for my husband was denied under 221g as well. From the actual interview until the case was reviewed for affirmation that time span too 15 months. Very long wait.

No, there is nothing like that happen both my wife and I, non of us never have married before and there is no any cultural a sort you are talking about that have happen for me or my wife.
