Hi everyone :)

My husband called the nvc today and we finally got our case number and invoice number but it takes again a couple of weeks before we could receive our welcome letter. Atleast we're moving.. Goodluck to everyone of us :)

May i know what will be the next step after this? Can we choose now our agent? Or we really need to wait for the welcome letter?

Leilei... I've posted this link before and I'm not sure if people just aren't seeing it or what, but it explains EXACTLY what to do next... also on VJ there are tons of guides and step-by-step processes that will help to guide you. All you have to do is enter what you are looking for in the SEARCH field and it will bring up some options. The link is  http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process#Useful_Information    Good luck!

This link is good but doesn’t apply to CEAC embassy’s. For people who can complete the whole application online - is there a help guide?

Thank you!

I tried to check the ceac electronic application and i was able to sign in and  started my application even without receiving a welcome letter or email from nvc. I submitted the DS-260 right away. Will check after a week again for the next step.

What about you @CloveD any update on your application?

I’m having the same problem.

Mine was sent from Texas, can you elaborate what that has to do with processing times?

Side note. Everyone one I’ve spoke too at the NVC over the past few weeks has been super nice and helpful until today. I actually called twice today just so I can talk to a different person and both of them were very cold and not sympathetic in the least. One of them even hanging up on me before I was done asking a question. Has anyone els has this same experience?

Yes... does that have anything to do with it? I mean once NVC receives it, why does it matter?

I dont know why, but it has been the case with all texas cases.

Just received an email from NVC saying that all documents have been received and the applicant is now in the queue awaiting an interview :D

My IV package was received on 3/26/18 so I was surprised to hear from them so soon since I've been reading that the average is about 11 weeks before your documents are completely reviewed

Now its just the final step in waiting of the interview :clock: Good luck to everyone!

Well, NVC receive our case on feb 15th and told me it would be 2 weeks before we got our case number/welcome letter. I called back 2 weeks later and the told me “up to 8 weeks.” I called ever day and after 8 weeks they said it was sent to a supervisor and could take an additional 6 weeks. I called today and they said the same thing as they always do, “case number has not been created and your file is with a supervisor.” Well, as I was talking to my, extreamly sad, wife one the phone tonight telling her the same news I get everyday i got an email. After almost 10weeks, we got our welcome letter and case number!!

Be pacient and everything will happen. If you’re still waiting, it’s coming soon. They are just very backed up right now.

Hi Guys,

So i finally got this email from NVC. I need some help as I am confused. I have been living outside the USA since I was 6 ( I am a born citizen), however I have been going to USA for vacation. My parents also reside in USA. Now that I have applied for my husbands green card they are asking for proof of domicile. I don't have a bank account in USA or a house. I am currently in Dubai and want to move back to USA Could someone please assist us. We are really stressed now. The below is mentioned in the email form NVC.

When reviewing your case, we noticed that your sponsor might not have a principal residence or be domiciled in the United States. A sponsor must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident who lives in the United States and plans to stay indefinitely. If your sponsor is living outside the United States temporarily, they must show:  They left the United States for only a limited time,  They intend to keep their residence in the United States, and  Evidence of continued ties to the United States.
