After getting my approval, I was very scared to travel to the US because of fair that they might send me back home. Yesterday I travelled to the states, and while they asked me a few questions, they did allow me through. So happy to be able to spend the holidays and my anniversary with my husband! Now I await NVC, but with the holidays it might not be until next year, wish for more approval for everyone. I was approved by the 5th and they didn't update the app until the 12th. I think its to give NVC more time.

My husband hasn't been visiting because he is self-employed and this year has been very busy for him, so they asked a lot about why he hasn't visited etc, they ask about my job, they ask how often I visit, which stage is my petition now, they ask if my husband has kids and if they live with him. They ask what is my reason for travelling and when I was gonna go back. They searched all my luggage. Lots more casual questions but it was alright.

Hi, its been awhile since i visited here. Still no approval but i got my EAD last nov 9, AOS says ready to be scheduled for an interview on Aug 22. Until now no schedule for interview. Very frustrating. Any thoughts whats going on? :(

Yesterday received email from NVC, which they sent the welcome letter along with cover sheet and case number and invoice number. Today, just submitted DS-261 and paid AOS fee

CR1 Journey for US Citizen (USC) with Spouse (India)

Service Center: Potomac Service Center

5/22/17 - Got married

6/6/17 - Mailed I-130 via UPS to Chicago Lockbox 6/7/17 - Received by USCIS; Priority Date (PD)

12/4/17 - I-130 Visa Petition Approved :) 

12/8/17- Email & Text message and website change to Case was sent to the Department of State 12/9/17 - NOA2 I-797 received in mail

12/13/17 - NVC received our case

12/21/17 - Received Welcome letter and AOS invoice from NVC thru email,Case number and invoice number assigned

12/22/17- Submit DS-261, Paid AOS fee

12/26/17 - AOS fee confirmed by bank and status change to paid in website

12/28/17 -  Received email for DS-261 confirmation and IV Invoice

12/29/17 - Paid IV fee

01/03/18 -  IV fee status change to paid in website and DS-260 open, DS-260 submitted, AOS & IV Package mailed

01/05/18 - AOS & IV package received by NVC

01/09/18 - Scan date 

01/13/18 - Case Completed. Called NVC on 1/16/18 to confirm

01/30/18 - Called NVC to find Interview is schedule for 3/15/18

I only called once on 12/18 to find out if NVC received my case. I was going plan to call today to get case number but i received email yesterday

So they waited for after you got your luggages ? Thank you for the detailed response.

That’s quick. How much are the fees during the NVC stage? Did you call to get the number or waited for the welcome letter?

 Know i should probably take a break and enjoy the holidays but somehow can’t stop thinking about it so I have another question: whats the invoice number. And what’s the difference between the invoice and case number ?
