Any limit on marriages?

I've had a string of bad marriages.  The first 2 were K1, the last one I met here and did the AOS.  It's so hard to know someone when you're under a time limit to get married, and it's very hard to know a person before living with them.  The first one I was married to for 5 years and had a child.  The last 2 lasted less than a year.  One returned home, the other (who got AOS) wants to stay.  They were all Russian and for whatever reason I could not imagine being with anything but a Russian.  I'm to the point where I'd like to try again, but am really concerned about the immigration process, do you think I'd have a hard time with it?

So there were four altogether? Obviously it might be seen as a red flag but then again our Embassy seems pretty forgiving. I think if you have strong evidence for a bona fide relationship that you can overcome any suspicions.

Also... Hard to know someone when you're on the time limit to marry? I think you don't understand how k1 works. You are suppose to get to know someone before they arrive on k1. The 90 days are for getting married not just to get to know that person... Lol. You will need a waiver and be prepared that the next k1 won't be an easy process for you.

Yes, you will have a hard time.  Not impossible, but very hard, especially with two very short marriages in there recently.

Take your time- if you like Russians, maybe join a Russian social club and see if you can meet a Russian who is already here and has a greencard? If not, meet them several times, have long visits together over a couple of years before you decide to petition her.  Ideally live together for a while, perhaps in her country?  Living together and/ or a long relationship before you petition for a visa will help both you knowing it is right this time, and make the CO less suspicious.

I agree with @Roel that you should spend more time getting to know the person before jumping into the K-1. I know it is annoying that it's hard for Russians to get tourist visas to the US, but on the plus side it's easy for Americans to visit Russia, so you can always visit in Russia and spend some time there. If you can manage, you can even move here temporarily (it's totally doable on one of the 3-year visas). If you like Russians in general, it could be interesting for you to spend more time here and understand the culture at large, which can help with the relationship in the long run.

There are over 126 million women living in the US. Maybe figure out what it is you're looking for in a woman and what you want out of a relationship and find a woman in the US that you can actually date and live with before marriage, as it seems you have quite different expectations of the relationship compared to your previous Russian brides.

I heard with the K1, you are allowed to petition 3 times. Looks like you already used 2 out of 3 chances.

There's no hard limit. Petitioning for the same person twice within 2 years (assuming the first one was approved), or petitioning 3 times total will require a waiver for the I-129F. The waiver is mostly a formality from my understanding.

 

However, as others noted, getting approved for the actual visa will be difficult without sufficient evidence of a bona fide relationship. The presumption will likely be that he is either being used for a card or is aiding in doing so. The relationship evidence will need to overcome that presumption.

 

A K-1 is not to get to know if you want to marry somebody. I also believe it is hard to know if you want to marry somebody without living with them first, but the difficulty is something many of us have to deal with. There needs to be no question that you want to spend and share your life with the individual. Until you are certain on the marriage, immigration should not be the focus. People first, immigration second. Good luck.

I am sorry to hear that they are not lasting. Maybe try something new that instead of marrying soon is to make sure you know the person. Like other's say, K1 is when you already know for sure you want to be with that person but not to try and see if you are already sure about the other person.

Where is the time limit? I don't understand where you are thinking there is a time limit. If your need to have someone physically with you is so strong, maybe long distance relationships are not for you. In that case find a Russian that is already here as someone else suggested. If you had 2 marriages last less than a year maybe you should start looking at your ability to judge someone properly before marrying. Slow it down, life is a marathon not a sprint. Good luck!

Boy oh boy...what ever happened to values?  People used to get married then live together. Shacking up was frowned upon.  When did all of this start?

When people realized that living with someone else is difficult and they want to be sure they're compatible. I firmly believe in living with someone before marriage.  I see marriage as more of a formality than relationship step.

As others have stated, you need to be sure before filing not trying to figure it out after they are here within 90 days.
It is not a dating visa to "let's see and find out what you are really like".
Stay in Russia for a while or date locally. I have a petition from 10 years ago for a K1 for a guy who I broke it off with and
he never made it here and at my now husband's AOS interview, I, as the petitioner was drilled for one hour (stokes interview) with a gazillion

questions about that ex fiance. That was AOS mind you and not even  K1 interview at the embassy phase.
We were also refused the first K1 and had to re file. Heck, yes it is a huge red flag having more than one previous beneficiary and you will

be scrutinized deeply. There is no set number of how many times you can petition someone but you must be able to convince them this time

will be different. if you yourself aren't sure then how will you convince a total stranger of that ?
